“The Norwegians”- When Emerson turns down Vivian’s request to look into the sudden disappearance of Dwight Dixon (Stephen Root), she turns to another PI team, lead by Emerson’s bitter rival, Magnus Olsdatter (guest star Orlando Jones). Magnus and his cohorts are relentless Norwegian gumshoes, ejected from their own country, whose snooping may reveal all of Ned’s and Chuck’s secrets, on “Pushing Daisies,”

“Pushing Daisies” stars Lee Pace as Ned, Anna Friel as Chuck, Chi McBride as Emerson Cod, Ellen Greene as Vivian, Field Cate as Young Ned, with Swoosie Kurtz as Lily and Kristin Chenoweth as Olive Snook. Jim Dale is the narrator.

Guest starring in “The Norwegians” are Stephen Root as Dwight Dixon, Orlando Jones as Magnus Olsdatter, Michael Weaver as Nils, Ivana Milicevic as Hedda and Nicolas Khayyat as Eugene.

In the eighth episode of Pushing Daisies‘ sophomore season, Ned (Lee Pace) and Olive (Kristin Chenoweth) enter a comfort food contest.  However, the competition takes a twisted turn when a chef is found deep fried and dead.  As a result, Ned brings back to life the mysteriously deep fried Colonel Likken, who then asks Ned, Emerson (Chi McBride) and Chuck to find out who stole his world-famous original recipe.

Meanwhile, Lily (Swoosie Kurtz) discovers Chuck (Anna Friel) is alive as she spies on Vivian who is spied on by Chuck.  Furthermore, Chuck enlists the help of Emerson in dealing with the consequences of her actions.


In addition to the food-themed murder case, tonight’s episode also features a musical number by Olive, who sings “Eternal Flame” by The Bangles.

Joining the main ensemble in tonight’s episode are Tim Bagley, Patrick Fischler, Eric Stonestreet, and Josh Randall.  Bagley, who appears as Colonel Likkin, is credited for his roles on Monk, 10 Items or Less and Will and Grace.  Fischler, who guest stars as The Waffle Nazi, most recently appeared as Jimmy Barrett on Mad Men.  Appearing as Leo Burns is Stonestreet, who is noted for his recurring role on CSI as Ronnie Litre, while Randall, who is credited for Scrubs, Ed, and Courting Alex, guest stars as Charles Charles.

Last but not the least, Beth Grant (Jericho, Sordid Lives: The Series, No Country for Old Men) recreates her role as Marianne Marie Beetle, a role she played before in Pushing Daisies creator Bryan Fuller’s previous show, Wonderfalls.
