Rookie Blue Season 4 Episode 01 Surprises: A group of young and ambitious rookie cops continue to navigate the emotional trials and tribulations of their professional and personal lives. After three years on the job, these rookies are well on their way to becoming experienced officers, but at what cost? It’s been six months since Andy McNally and Nick Collins left for their undercover operation. But while they were gone, everything seems to have changed at 15 Division, on the Season Four premiere of “Rookie Blue,” THURSDAY, MAY 23 (10:01-11:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.
In the season premiere, “Surprises,” Andy and Nick continue to work undercover infiltrating a meth pipeline. However their covert mission goes sideways when Nick – then Andy – go missing. Meanwhile, a random arrest at 15 Division puts Sam Swarek and the other officers in the middle of the drug investigation-turned-rescue operation. Finally, Andy must figure out how to cope with the transformation of her own life as well as those of her friends at the station and continue to do the job she loves.
That’s what being a cop is: adjusting to new situations, rolling with the punches. Change is constant, and if you don’t adapt, you’re left behind. So when Andy returns to find that Sam Swarek is now a Detective and that he’s moved on, she’s going to have to figure out how to deal with it. Meanwhile, Dov’s life gets awkward when a one-night stand with Frank’s goddaughter becomes more complicated. Chris is torn between staying at 15 Division and moving his new family back to his smaller, safer hometown. Traci is learning to work with new detective Swarek while trying to move on from the loss of her fiance, Jerry Barber. And although Nick and Gail have cemented their relationship, Nick can’t seem to shed the feeling that all is not right between them. Last season, our officers got what they wanted and had to deal with the repercussions. This year, they will have to look change right in the eye and learn to adapt — leaving them with some big, bold choices to make.

Producers are currently looking for actors to play two new series regular roles. In keeping with the show’s Toronto roots, they’re interested in casting only Canadian actors. Way to keep it authentic, guys!
First up, they’re looking for a “very attractive” (duh) 30-35-year-old actress to play Marlo, a new Senior training uniformed officer in the division. She’s been off the street for a while after working SWAT, but she’s burnt out on that and ready to return to her roots. She’s described as “calm and capable under fire, a great shot and tough strategist but very likable, good sense of humour and charming in her personal life.”
Additionally, they’re bringing in another rookie — which makes sense, as our original team of rookies are now more experienced. Chloe is in her early twenties, and she’s described as “a wild-card, unpredictable, a little crazy in a good way.” Uh oh. There’s a twist, too — her godfather is Frank (Lyriq Bent). He used to be her father’s partner, so she now looks to him as a mentor figure in her life. Expect Chloe to be introduced in the season’s second episode.
