If there’s one thing we learned in “One Foot Out the Door, it’s that there are no tricks, words, or actions to make a significant other stay in a relationship. It takes real effort to make things work, something I’m not sure certain people are willing to put into.
Adrian and Ben are in real trouble. If they spent the weekend having getting it on, why are they both so unhappy? Ben needs to tell Adrian his feelings and stop letting sex overrule his thought process. Difficult for a teenage boy, I know. Adrian needs to also express her feelings to Ben and stop making up tricks to find out how he feels.
Bluffing about applying to school in New York is one thing, but asking her doctor if it’s too soon for her to start trying for another baby? The the “accidental” knock up? That is the most desperate move in the book.I realize these two have been through tragedy and aren’t in the best frame of mind. Adrian is a bright, gorgeous girl who is grasping at straws to stay with a man she didn’t really marry for love. As much as this pair grew in a great way together, it might just be time for them to separate. That goes for Leo and Betty, as well.
Another couple that needs to separate is Madison and Jack. I mean, I wouldn’t so much call him a weasel as Lauren did – more of a loser. Break up with her! What’s stopping him? He clearly doesn’t want to be in this relationship. Madison called his parents and made up a lie to get him to stay in town for Christ’s sake. She is paranoid and nutso and these two need to be finitio.
My patience has run out trying to care about their relationship status.
Next: Grace is having fun. She has that relaxed sex glow about her. But Adrian is right that girlfriend needs to stop proclaiming every guy she hooks up with to be “the one” just to justify sleeping with them. If she has to justify it, then she’s not totally comfortable with herself and what she’s doing and perhaps Grace should reflect on that.
See? Adrian gives great advice, if only she could give herself that great advice.
Ricky and Amy are fighting the way any couple of a young child would be. But when your child is covering his ears and saying “ow” because of your constant bickering, you need a reality check. And for that matter, Ricky needs to LIGHTEN UP with the whole “you’re not my wife” bit. Amy never asked to be his wife and the more he brings it up, the worse he makes it. For that matter, the more they discuss not getting married, the more I think they eventually will. It’s obviously on both of their minds, they’re a family.
I think these two are headed in a good direction and I’m glad the show is keeping them together and showing them work through their issues. As for everyone else, check yourself before you wreck yourself.
ABC Family has ordered the fifth season of “The Secret Life of the American Teenager“. The renewal makes the Shailene Woodley-starring teen drama series the longest-running show in the network’s history as well as takes the show into its 100th episode.
In addition to renewing “Secret Life”, the cable channel also gave series orders to a multicamera half-hour “Baby Daddy” and a reality series “Beverly Hills Nannies”. Both shows will begin production this spring for a summer release.
The former is a comedy featuring Chelsea Kane (previously known as Chelsea Staub) and Tahj Mowry in the cast ensemble, and will follow “a young man who becomes a surprise dad to a baby girl when she’s left on his doorstep by an ex-girlfriend.” The unscripted program, meanwhile, revolves around “the lives of a group of nannies working for families in the most exclusive zip code in the country.”
“We’re very proud of our deep bench of original content successfully built out over eight years of exceptional growth,” said ABC Family president Michael Riley. “This Summer, we’re excited to continue to expand our content across key genres adding another season to our groundbreaking drama, ‘Secret Life,’ wonderful comedy and a return to reality programming as we continue to innovate with our ABC Family brand.”

The Secret Life of the American Teenager Season 4 Episode 11 The Games We Play : Burbank, CA (August 17, 2011) – Amy does everything she can to try and convince Ricky to propose, but little does she know that Ricky might be more willing to commit than she thought, on an all-new episode of “The Secret Life of the American Teenager,” premiering on Monday, August 22 (8:00 – 9:00 PM ET/PT).
In the one-hour episode, “The Games We Play,” Amy is obsessed with trying to get Ricky to propose and becomes much more attentive to his every need to show how she’d be a great wife. Ricky is well aware of her plan and decides to enjoy every pampered moment, as he has a little plan of his own. Meanwhile, Adrian is upset that Dante never called after their date and ends up meeting his handsome brother. And Jack is desperate to find a date to accompany him to all the senior festivities, but will he be able to convince Madison or Grace to join him?

Burbank, CA (July 5, 2011) – Ben is forced to confront his feelings toward Adrian and his grief over losing their baby when she decides to clear out the nursery, on an all-new episode of “The Secret Life of the American Teenager,” premiering on Monday, July 11 (8:00 – 9:00 PM ET/PT).
In “Hole in the Wall,” Adrian insists she is feeling much better and decides to make a clean start by donating all the items in the baby’s room to the church nursery, thinking it will please Ben. Although her intentions were good, Ben is infuriated when he discovers the empty room and cannot hold his rage toward Adrian any longer. After an emotional blow up, Adrian is left crushed once again, while Ben’s grief threatens to lead him down a dangerous path. Meanwhile, Jack walks in on Grace and her new boyfriend Daniel kissing, and Jack reveals that he’s not over her, making Grace wonder if she still has feelings for Jack. And Amy is upset that Adrian called Ricky – but he blows it off as if it didn’t mean anything, but did it?

The Secret Life of the American Teenager Season 4 Episode 4 One Foot Out The Door : Burbank, CA (June 30, 2011) – Amy and Ricky are forced to examine their relationship during a hospital visit for John, while Ben may have found a way out of his marriage to Adrian, on “The Secret Life of the American Teenager,” premiering on Monday, July 4 (8:00 – 9:00 PM ET/PT).
In the one-hour episode, “One Foot Out The Door,” Amy becomes increasingly upset when Ricky insists John is not sick. Despite his feelings, Ricky agrees to take John to the hospital, where he makes the mistake of calling Amy his wife. As her emotions lean toward excitement, Ricky becomes withdrawn, causing their fight to escalate. With their arguing starting to affect their son, the two must re-examine if living together is the right thing to do. Meanwhile, Ben continues to look for a way out of his marriage, and Adrian may have just given him one. In a test to see if Ben still loves her, Adrian tells him she wants to go to cosmetology school in New York. Ben tells her to go, leaving Adrian to think of taking desperate measures to keep the marriage intact.

The Secret Life of the American Teenager Season 4 Episode 2 Another One Opens : Burbank, CA (June 15, 2011) – Ben is having a hard time settling into marriage, while Ricky and Amy grow even closer, on “The Secret Life of the American Teenager,” premiering on Monday, June 20 (8:00 – 9:00 PM ET/PT).
In “Another One Opens,” Ben confides in his father that he’s not sure he wants to remain married to Adrian now that they don’t have a baby. Leo has a confession of his own, admitting to Ben that he’s not sure he wants to stay married to Betty. Adrian is still in a deep depression, but is cheered up a bit when Betty comes for a visit. Anne and George find themselves a little lonely with both daughters away. Meanwhile, Ricky gets upset with Amy when he finds out she lied about telling Adrian they moved in together, but will this tear them apart or bring them closer together?

Burbank, CA (June 9, 2011) – Adrian and Ben struggle to maintain their relationship after the unexpected loss of their child, on “The Secret Life of the American Teenager,” premiering on Monday, June 13 (8:00 – 9:00 PM ET/PT).
In “When One Door Closes,” Adrian is in a deep depression, refusing to leave the house, while Ben struggles to keep it all together after losing their baby. Ben has returned to school, but is devastated and angry about the situation. Ben asks Amy to visit Adrian at home to help her through this difficult time. Meanwhile, Amy feels a little guilty for being so happy in her own life – she’s in love with Ricky and their relationship seems to be growing stronger by the day. Ricky insists they shouldn’t feel guilty and invites Amy and John to move in with him.

“The Secret Life of the American Teenager” has just wrapped the third season on June 6, but it will soon start the new round. The fourth season is set to premiere next week and a preview to the first episode has been shared.
In “When One Door Opens”, Adrian refuses to leave the house and decides that she and Amy should open up about their feelings to each other. In the meantime, Ricky and Amy are likely to move forward with their plan which they have discussed about for a long time.
“The Secret Life of the American Teenager” returns for the fourth season on ABC Family, Monday, June 13 at 8/7c. It is followed by a new series “Switched at Birth“.
