Based on Alloy Entertainment’s book series by Cecily Von Ziegesar, CW’s Gossip Girl gave New York’s fashionable Upper East Side basically the same slick and sexy treatment as Fox’s The O.C. had given California’s Orange County. The series focused on a group of terribly wealthy, dazzlingly good-looking young men and women, all attending a high-end prep school. At the outset of the story, the previously unquestioned social supremacy of teenaged rich-bitch Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) was suddenly and unexpectedly placed in jeopardy by the return of Blair’s former best friend Serena Van der Woodson (Blake Lively), who’d just been booted out of boarding school. An unabashed “party animal” and romantic predator, Serena not only threatened Blair’s position as the school’s unofficial leader, but also tried to move in on Blair’s handsome-hunk boyfriend Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford). These momentous events were observed and commented upon by Blair’s current best buds Kati (Nan Zhang) and Isabel (Nicole Fiscella), and by the series’ obligatory “blue-collar” characters, likable Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgely) and his socially ambitious sister Jenny (Taylor Momsen)–the latter unwittingly targeted for eventual seduction by the school’s resident Lothario, Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick). The titular “Gossip Girl”, played by Kristen Bell, dished out all the dirt on her online website, thus acting as the series’ unofficial narrator. Originally planned as a theatrical feature starring Lindsay Lohan, Gossip Girl ended up being developed as a TV series by The O.C.’s Josh Schwartz, and in this form made its debut as a pilot on September 19, 2007, and as a weekly offering on October 1 of that year.

But as for me, what is being depicted on the show is no different from today’s time. Thus, we should just be open-minded.

In this week’s episode of Gossip Girl, the triangle between Louis, Blair and Chuck heated up, but this time it was instigated by Prince Louis. He had found Blair’s paternity test, but we now know it 100% confirms that he is the baby’s father. However, the fact that Blair wasn’t sure about the father drove Louis to bribe Chuck’s therapist to drive him into a rage. Chuck discovered that Louis and the therapist were in cahoots and refused to crack, but he did expose the two of them at Diana’s Spectator launch party. In the end, Blair was angry about Louis’ actions and told him he needs to stop behaving like Chuck, although she declared there is no chance for a reconciliation between Chuck and Blair.
Meanwhile, Jane tricked both Serena and Dan into removing Dan as the screenwriter for the movie adaptation of his book. But when Serena discovered that Jane had plans to make major changes to the story, Serena asked Diana to kill the movie. When Jane fired Serena, Diana jumped in and hired her to be the new “Gossip Girl” for the Spectator.
Nate also learned that Diana has another man on the side and doesn’t want to expose their relationship. He used Charlie to try and make Diana jealous, but Diana just exposed that both Nate and Charlie were using each other.
In the November 14 episode of Gossip Girl, the cast heads to a performing of Punchdrunk’s theater experience called “Sleep No More”. Inside the theater the characters indulge in masks and some romantic twists. Diana continues to use Serena to take down Gossip Girl and Dan heads out on his book tour, but it may not be everything he thought it would be.

Gossip Girl Season 5 Episode 1 Yes, Then Zero : OUR FAVORITE UPPER EAST SIDERS ON THE WEST COAST! The CW has officially announced that “The Vampire Diaries“, “Gossip Girl“, “Supernatural“, “90210” and “America’s Next Top Model” are picked up for new season. The renewal for “Vampire Diaries” has been expected as it has become the network’s most-watched show. The drama fantasy will return for a third season.
“Gossip Girl”, meanwhile, is The CW’s second most popular series. The teen drama will be back for its fifth season and will hit its 100th episode next season. As for “Supernatural”, it has maintained steady numbers in its Friday night time slot which is TV’s toughest night. The show will return for its seventh season.
“90210″, which is the network’s most DVRed series, will be back for its fourth season. The pick-up for “Top Model”, meanwhile, means the show will return in the fall with its first-ever All-Star Edition, featuring breakout characters from past cycles.
Still awaiting decision are “One Tree Hill“, “Hellcats” and “Nikita“. Most cast of “Hill”, however, have officially signed on for a ninth season if there is.
