Resist the urge to nuke the messenger, but multiple sources are telling me that Fox will not be renewing Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles for a third season.
“It’s done,” maintains a source close to the show. “Everyone has pretty much known for a couple of weeks.” Adds a network insider: “Consider it canceled.”
The one bright spot? Despite horrific ratings, Fox isn’t ready to declare SCC dead and buried — at least not officially. “No decision has been made yet,” insists a network rep. “We will be announcing our fall schedule on May 18.”
Rough translation: It won’t be back.
Oh, I just thought of one other bright spot: At least the show went out on top creatively. Last Friday’s finale was an action-packed, closure-filled triumph. The only thing left unresolved is what Summer Glau will do for an encore. I’m thinking 24 should hire her as next season’s Big Bad.
What do you think Glau should do next? Post your career advice — and unofficial SCC eulogies — in the comments section below.

The Connors close in on skynet and battle lines are drawn. In the next “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles“, John attempts to rescue Skynet’s latest target and he finds himself closing in on Weaver, but at what cost?
Game plans change leading Sarah and Ellison to reunite, while Weaver learns Ellison’s secrets. The episode which will be the second last for this season, is titled “Adam Raised a Cain” and airs April 3 after “Dollhouse“.
Regarding the fate of the series, FOX will reportedly determine whether they will order the third season or not in May after the show wraps up on April 10. In the series finale itself, a major male character will die and a woman in John’s life will leave him.

The March 13th episode of The Sarah Connor Chronicles is the first part of the two-installment extravaganza “Today is the Day.” Currently, the second half is scheduled to air the following Friday, on March 20.
It looks like Sarah and John will finally outgrow their latest digs and decide to pick up roots again and head out to find a new safe place. Meanwhile, Jesse reminisces about a life-altering mission that happened when she was on a submarine called the Jimmy Carter. Did I miss something, or was everybody else already aware they have underwater boats during the reign of the terminators? Hmmm…
Preview photos from the episode follow the jump, and they indicate cyborgs Catherine Weaver and John Henry play a significant role in this two-parter, as well. Good since both add lots of android-ish flavor to the series.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles’ second episode back from Winter hiatus, 2.15, titled, “Desert Cantos“. The episode has Sarah, John, Cameron and Derek going in search of clues connected to a factory that has been torn down. Meanwhile, Catherine Weaver sends a man to the same place to look for survivors. Any chance that “man” will be Ellison? Don’t see Riley or Jesse around. And whose funeral are they attending?

The Sarah Connor Chronicles, they’re introducing a weekly podcast upon the show’s return on February 13, 2009, with Episode 2.14, titled, “The Good Wound”. Josh Friedman, the producer, introduces the podcast and then gives us a clip from “The Good Wound” showing Sarah Connor and Kyle Reese together again. It starts out looking like a dream, but I don’t think it’s a dream. I think it’s Kyle trying to convince Sarah that he’s who he says he is. And man, does he look so much younger than her. I don’t know if that’s the producers sticking to the show’s timeline or what, but it’s a little odd seeing just how much older Sarah looks next to the guy they have playing Kyle.

So if this really is Kyle Reese, and not some figment of Sarah’s imagination during her harrowing gunshot daze, then it means Kyle Reese was from the future, came to the past where he got himself killed, but then later, his future self comes back again, and – oh, my aching head!
