Each season of The Biggest Loser brings a new twist. For season 11, which premieres on Jan. 4, it involves the two trainers brought in to help replace Jillian Michaels when she leaves the show at the end of the season.
Depending on where contestants place in the first challenge, they’ll be able to decide whether they want to work with Bob Harper and Michaels on the ranch, or move to a secret location and work out with two mystery trainers in exchange for four weeks of immunity. NBC promises “a riveting ride of intense emotions, surprising turns and ‘can’t miss’ moments” will ensue.
It’s fitting that the newbie trainers will be paired up together, since the next ‘Biggest Loser’ will be a couples edition. After the jump, learn more about the latest batch of ‘Losers,’ courtesy an NBC press release.
The new contestants competing for the $250,000 grand prize are:

• Dan Evans (Police captain), 54, and his twin brother, Don Evans (Police lieutenant), 54, Oklahoma City, Okla.
SISTERS
• Olivia Ward (Opera singer and manager at plastic surgery office), 35, New York City, N.Y., and her sister Hannah Curlee (Human resources representative for a healthcare company), 32, Nashville, Tenn.
SPOUSES
• Larialmy Allen (Student services program coordinator), 26, and her husband, Jaquin Allen (Patient services representative), 27, Columbia, S.C.

THE BIGGEST LOSER: COUPLES Season 9 Episode 5 airing on Tuesday February 2 (8-10 p.m. ET).
Synopsis: THE BIGGEST LOSER Season 9 Episode 5 – THE BLUE AND YELLOW TEAMS RETURN TO TRY AND EARN A SPOT BACK ON THE RANCH — This week, contestants are surprised by the return of the blue and yellow teams, who were sent home after the first challenge of the season. Now they’re back, 30 days later, to weigh in and try to earn a spot back on the ranch. Then a vigorous football challenge tests everyone’s stamina, except for one player sidelined with medical issues, and provides immunity for the winner – but a big disadvantage for the losing team. Later, after another elimination round sends a player home, host Alison Sweeney surprises the contestants with exciting news. Trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels also star.

The new 22 contestants for Season 9 of THE BIGGEST LOSER: COUPLES have just been announced today. It seems that every season contestants get bigger and bigger.
This season a team of identical twin brothers will be weighing in together at close to 1,000 pounds, that is insane! This season will be the heaviest cast ever.
Season 9 of The Biggest Loser premieres on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 (8-10 p.m. ET).
So let’s meet the new contestants:
THE BIGGEST LOSER Season 8 Finale (Season 8 Episode 12) – In this must-see, exciting live finale, all of the contestants from this season return for a special reunion and a chance to weigh in one last time – and show America how much weight they’ve all lost since beginning their weight-loss journeys. There are four contestants left, but America has voted on the two that fell below the yellow line in last week’s episode to choose who will be the third finalist in the game. After America’s vote is revealed and the third finalist is announced, the eliminated player will then weigh in with the other 12 eliminated contestants to compete for the $100,000 “at home” prize. Then it’s the moment viewers have been waiting for, when one of the three finalists will be named this season’s “Biggest Loser” and win the coveted grand prize of $250,000! Alison Sweeney is the host, and trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels also star.
