Sunday has come and gone, and so has the new episode of True Blood, “You Smell Like Dinner”. As is standard practice, we were given a short preview for episode three, “If You Love Me, Why Am I Dying”. It goes by quick, so unless you have magic goggles that allow you to see things down at a slow frame rate, you might miss something good.
We see quite a bit of the aftermath of Eric’s attack on Marnie. She acts all frail, like her evil self can’t handle a vampire bite. We also see Sookie getting stalked slash hunted by Eric sans memory. Without knowing who Sookie is, I bet her delicious fairy blood smells pretty darn appetizing to him. There’s also some focus on Jason’s predicament with the werepanthers. That whole situation just seems bizarre to me, but mostly I just feel bad that Jason has been chained up this whole time! Cut the guy some slack.
There were some other quick yet notable scenes. Jessica admits to being with another man. Andy drinks some blood and pointing his gun at Sam. Bill seems to be enjoying his lady friend still. Lafayette talks about making a move against the witches. Sookie gets told to leave everything behind for her fairy family. With promos like this, I’m always amazed that they manage to fit everything in to the actual episode. It seems like so much information to put on screen when it’s condensed in to 30 seconds. Check out some new casting news regarding a new vampire and the return of a another – both vampires!
So who’s stoked for episode three? Shout out in the comments.

Denis O’Hare, who excellently portrays Russell Edgington on True Blood recently hinted that the king of the vampires would be making a return, but he didn’t know when that return would be happening. Fans can now breathe a little easier because Film School Rejects had a chance to talk with O’Hare and discovered plans are a little more concrete these days.
“They were definitely bringing me back,” O’Hare reveals, “it was just a matter of if they wanted to bring me back the last couple episodes or bring me back at the beginning. So they decided to do it at the beginning of season 5.”
O’Hare also shared a little bit about what makes Russell such an interesting character to watch, describing the balance between Edgington’s menace and child-like wonder, “I always, as an actor, have a private back-story which I never tell anybody. One day I will. But his back-story is really fascinating. He came from a very weird place. I think the thing that you think about vampires is you think about them being urbane and sort of like lethargic and really cool, and very, very, unflappable. I thought it doesn’t have to be that way. There’s nothing written in the vampire rules that says they all have to be really slick, styling people.
And I love that Russell has this intense passion for life; literally a passion for living and a passion for life. I think that actually forms his kind of childlike quality.”
Even though we have to go through Season 4 without O’Hare, he’ll still be making his presence known on the small screen in FX’s American Horror Story, as well as on the big screen in Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar, and True Blood fans will have some new faces to keep them company during Edgington’s absence, including Caroline Bellefleur and a new character described as “an ancient vampire with a wicked thirst.”
Whether you’re a True Blood newbie or been with Sookie from the very first episode, you’ll might also want to check out the Boomtron Podcast for Episode 1 of Season 4 to see what our vampy ladies have to say about what’s going on down in Bon Temps.
True Blood is an American television drama series created and produced by Alan Ball. It is based on The Southern Vampire Mysteries series of novels by Charlaine Harris, and details the co-existence of vampires and humans in Bon Temps, a fictional, small town in the state of Louisiana. The series centers on Sookie Stackhouse (played by actress Anna Paquin), a telepathic waitress at a bar, who falls in love with vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer).

Sookie Stackhouse, a telepathic barmaid finds comfort in the company of vampires since they have no brainwave activity for her to read. She and her brother Jason were raised by her grandmother after losing their parents in a flood and she tries to keep her telepathic ability a secret. Thanks largely in part to the creation of a Japanese-made synthetic blood called True Blood vampires have made their existence known to the world. Sookie works at the bar ‘Merlotte’s’ which is owned and operated by her boss Sam Merlotte who has a secret of his own.
The first season received critical acclaim and won several awards, including one Golden Globe and an Emmy. The show’s second 12-episode season had its premiere on June 14, 2009 and the third season on June 13, 2010. On June 21, 2010, HBO renewed True Blood for a fourth season, set to debut on June 26, 2011.

Seven noble families fight for control of the mythical land of Westeros. Political and sexual intrigue abound. The primary families are the Stark, Lannister, and Baratheon families. Robert Baratheon, King of Westeros, asks his old friend Eddard Stark to serve as his chief advisor. Eddard, suspecting that his predecessor had been murdered, accepts so that he can investigate further. It turns out more than one family is plotting to take the throne. The Queen’s family, the Lannisters, may be hatching a plot to take control. Across the sea, the last surviving members of the previously deposed ruling family, the Targaryens, are also plotting a return to power. The conflict between these families and others, including the Greyjoys, the Tullys, the Arryns, and the Tyrells, leads to war. Meanwhile, in the north, an ancient evil awakens. Amidst war and the political confusion, a brotherhood of misfits, The Night’s Watch, is all that stands between the realms of men and the horrors beyond.
