Californication may get a spin-off treatment. Entertainment Weekly reported that the show will introduce a new character in the upcoming season 6, with plans to give her a stand-alone show.
The new character named Faith is a professional groupie who is in her mid-to-late 20s. She is described as “what happens when an innocent young Catholic school girl is exposed to the evils of rock and roll and falls heads over heels in love with the music and the men who make it.”
Faith, who is yet to be cast, has been hitting the road with various bands for years and is considered a muse by some elite artists, the site further spills. She has a fondness for sex, drugs and rock and roll, but at the same time, she remains quite religious.
Faith will have a prominent role in the show’s new season and appear in nine episodes. Showtime has not set a premiere date for the sixth season, but the drama comedy series is expected to return sometime in 2013.

Episode Synopsis: CALIFORNICATION “Mr. Bad Example” Season 3 Episode 9 – After Becca and Chelsea (ELLEN DAVIS WOGLOM) get into a brawl at school, Hank and Karen are called into the principal’s office along with Felicia (EMBETH DAVIDTZ) and Peter Koons (PETER GALLAGHER). Karen’s disgusted after the Dean offhandedly airs Hank and Felicia’s indiscretions. Later, Hank gets up close and personal with campus security when a distraught Charlie storms the college in search of cocaine for high-maintenance client Rick Springfield (RICK SPRINGFIELD). Felicia flexes her power to help save Hank from his own bad judgment. Meanwhile, Karen encourages Becca to make amends with Chelsea. As Marcy becomes increasingly infatuated with coke fiend Rick Springfield, Charlie valiantly tries to protect her from a relapse, jeopardizing his agent/client relationship in the process.

Back in L.A. for a short visit, Karen hatches a plan to move the family back to New York for good. Hank’s mighty pleased, but Becca’s crestfallen about leaving her new best friend, Chelsea (ELLEN DAVIS WOGLOM). After inviting herself to Hank’s class, Karen meets the comely ladies of the university: T.A. Jill Robinson (DIANE FARR) and sexpot student Jackie (EVA AMURRI). Later on, tempers flare when Becca and Chelsea get into some serious trouble and Hank and Karen are forced to pay a tense visit to Chelsea’s parents, Felicia and Stacy Koons (EMBETH DAVIDTZ, PETER GALLAGHER).
Charlie is crushed when Marcy loudly consummates her girlhood-crush on Rick Springfield (RICK SPRINGFIELD). But Sue Collini (KATHLEEN TURNER) thinks up a creative way to restore Charlie’s confidence.

Californication Season 3 Episode 3 Verities & Balderdash
What happens when a sex addict falls for a boy-crazy student? We’ll find out later this year when Rescue Me and Numb3rs alum Diane Farr joins the third season of Showtime’s Californication as a horny grad student who falls for David Duchovny’s carnally-obsessed Hank.
The 10-episode gig is Farr’s first since giving birth to twin girls, Sawyer Lucia Chung and Coco Trinity Chung, last August. She also has a 2-year-old son, Beckett, with husband Seung Yong Chung.
“Staying home with three little kids for six months has made me wonder if I might drown in a sea of velour sweat pants,” the actress says with a laugh. “Californication is like a grooming life-preserver for me. I can’t wait to go to work.”
Farr’s especially looking forward to not having to channel yet another tough chick in uniform. “I am so excited to play someone who is girlie,” she enthuses, “and wears a sundress without a gun or a fire hose in my hand.”

Icon sex symbol Kathleen Turner is joining Showtime’s Californication for a recurring arc during the dramedy’s upcoming third season, sources confirm to me exclusively.
Turner will play the ball-breaking, foul-mouthed, outrageous boss of Evan Handler’s literary agent. She’s Ari Gold without the poison sushi allergy penis!
A Showtime rep declined to comment, but Turner’s spokesperson, Alan Nierob, confirmed that the Oscar-nominated actress would be spending three months in Los Angeles shooting the role.
Season three of Californication is slated to debut next fall.
