HBO will be back with the tenth episode of Boardwalk Empire next week and it is called ‘Georgia Peaches.’ Tonight’s episode there was a lot of action. In a surprising mood the IRA killed John McGarrigle because he wanted to negotiate for peace. At least Nucky got to see what a giant snake Owen is. Waxy made his move against Manny Horvitz but it did not turn out like Waxy thought it would. In line with Chalky’s plan Dunn Purnsley orchestrates a worker’s strike at the Ritz. Official Synopsis: Undercut by Nucky, who has a new source for alcohol, Jimmy and his partners look to cultivate a new revenue stream in Atlantic City. With the peak tourist season approaching, the Commodore’s (Dabney Coleman) crew faces a choice in dealing with the city’s striking workers: negotiate or fight back. Fearing that sin has led to misfortune, Margaret approaches Father Brennan (Michael Cumpsty) with an “act of devotion.” Nucky gets a new lawyer; Van Alden faces an uncertain future; Manny Horvitz takes exception to a debt payment.
From the preview tonight we learn there are only three more episodes to the season. The preview opens up with Margaret in church praying for Emily. The next scene shows Eli in jail, I wonder how he landed there. Then we see Jimmy asking Chalky what he wants and Chalky answers, ‘Justice.’ Someone is strangling Mickey Doyle, hard to say who there are so many possibilities. Margaret’s son Teddy saw something and Nucky tells him what he saw was an accident and Teddy promises not too tell. The strike is on and is getting violent. There is a whole lot more in the preview check it out. It ends with Manny the Butcher shooting someone. Wonder if it is Waxy or Jimmy he shoots?

BOARDWALK EMPIRE “Battle of the Century” Season 2 Episode 9 airs November 20 at 9pm on HBO.
Episode Synopsis: Arriving in Belfast, Nucky and Owen meet with IRA leaders with a barter proposition. Meanwhile, in Atlantic City, Jimmy and his partners broker a deal with George Remus (Glenn Fleshler) for his “medicinal” alcohol before taking a break to see/hear the Dempsey fight. Margaret frets when Emily’s (Josie and Lucy Gallina) illness takes a turn for the worse; Dunn Purnsley (Erik LaRay Harvey) orchestrates a worker’s strike at the Ritz; Waxey Gordon (Nick Sandow) takes action against Manny Horvitz (William Forsythe) in Philadelphia; Randolph and Clifford Lathrop (Curt Bouril) grill Halloran about Nucky’s past.
HBO announced the inevitable. The cable’s Emmy-winning drama, “Boardwalk Empire“, has been renewed for a third season after showing great numbers in three episodes into the second season.
“Following a triumphant first season, I was eager to see what Terry Winter, Martin Scorsese and the rest of their stellar team had in store, and they continue to surpass our highest expectations,” said HBO president of programming Michael Lombardo. “The response from the media and our viewers has been extremely gratifying.”
The Steve Buscemi-starring series returned to the screen on September 25 with 2.9 million viewers hooked. Its most recent episode also delivered the same number and a 1.2 rating in the adult demo. The numbers are close to the show’s first season average which is 3.2 million viewers.
HBO has also given renewals for “True Blood“, “Game of Thrones” and “Treme”.

I’ll give you a quick synopsis of Boardwalk Empire Season 2 Episode 2 Ourselves Alone: Despite being publicly embarrassed by legal trouble, Nucky’s biggest concern may be holding on to his private army in a battle for control of Atlantic City.
Meanwhile, Jimmy pitches a business deal to Arnold Rothstein in New York, but may have more in common with Meyer Lansky and Lucky Luciano; Margaret draws on past experience to retrieve some valuable information; Chalky clashes with a fellow inmate; and an Irish nationalist comes to town looking for support.
