Modern Family Season 3 Episode 18 Send Out the Clowns : Tony Award-Winner Ellen Barkin (“The Big Easy,” “Ocean’s Thirteen”) and Bobby Cannavale (“Will & Grace,” “Third Watch”) Guest Star
TENSIONS RISE BETWEEN CLOWNS, REALTORS & PRITCHETTS, ON ABC’S “MODERN FAMILY”
“Send Out the Clowns” – The funeral service for a beloved clown mentor reunites Cameron with his estranged ex-clown partner, Lewis (Bobby Cannavale); Phil is serious about landing a very important listing, only to get trumped by a notorious bulldozer of an agent, Verna Roth (Ellen Barkin); and Manny has a cool new friend, which makes both Jay and Gloria suspicious, on “Modern Family,” WEDNESDAY, MARCH 14 (9:00-9:31 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.
“Modern Family” stars Ed O’Neill as Jay, Julie Bowen as Claire, Ty Burrell as Phil, Sofía Vergara as Gloria, Jesse Tyler Ferguson as Mitchell, Eric Stonestreet as Cameron, Sarah Hyland as Haley, Nolan Gould as Luke, Ariel Winter as Alex, Rico Rodriguez as Manny and Aubrey Anderson-Emmons as Lily.
Guest cast includes Ellen Barkin as Verna, Bobby Cannavale as Lewis, Dash Dobrofsky as Griffin, Jonathan Emerson as Stan Larkin, Nancy Linari as Patti Larkin, Guilford Adams as Chuckleberry, Chris Dollard as Bubbles, Gary Morgan as pallbearer no. 1 and Michael Heatherton as pallbearer no. 2.
“Send Out the Clowns” was written by Steven Levitan & Jeffrey Richman & Bill Wrubel, and directed by Steven Levitan.
Season 3 Episode 9
When an old neighborhood kid returns to town as a hugely successful internet billionaire, it gets Phil thinking of what could have been. Jay feels Manny could use a little dose of constructive criticism, and Cameron is offended when Mitchell questions the authenticity of his colorful childhood stories

Modern Family is pretty easily one of my favorite comedies on television, and yet every time I watch it, you know what I realize that it needs? BLACK PEOPLE. Way more black people, so it makes me happier than a clam to find out that one of the funniest comedians in the industry right now will be guest-starring on one of TV’s most hilarious shows.
Kevin Hart, whose movie Laugh At My Pain caused quite the stir when it landed a Top 10 debut despite airing in only 97 theatres, will be joining the ranks of Ty Burrell, Julie Bowen, Sofia Vergara, Eric Stonestreet, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Ed O’Neill, and the rest of the talented cast of the Emmy-winning (understatement of the month, it was a clean sweep this year) series Modern Family. Kevin will play a neighbor of the Dunphy family named Andre, who is a physician, and I have no doubts that he’ll bring absolute hilarity to the small screen.
What do you think? Is Kevin Hart on Modern Family a good idea? Sound off in the comments!
