True Blood-If You Love Me, Why Am I Dying TV Teaser

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off

True Blood

Sunday has come and gone, and so has the new episode of  True Blood, “You Smell Like Dinner”. As is standard practice, we were given a short preview for episode three, “If You Love Me, Why Am I Dying”. It goes by quick, so unless you have magic goggles that allow you to see things down at a slow frame rate, you might miss something good.

Check out and listen to the Boomtron Podcast with Elena and Rachel talking the True Blood Season 4 premiere.

We see quite a bit of the aftermath of Eric’s attack on Marnie. She acts all frail, like her evil self can’t handle a vampire bite. We also see Sookie getting stalked slash hunted by Eric sans memory. Without knowing who Sookie is, I bet her delicious fairy blood smells pretty darn appetizing to him. There’s also some focus on Jason’s predicament with the werepanthers. That whole situation just seems bizarre to me, but mostly I just feel bad that Jason has been chained up this whole time! Cut the guy some slack.

There were some other quick yet notable scenes. Jessica admits to being with another man. Andy drinks some blood and pointing his gun at Sam. Bill seems to be enjoying his lady friend still. Lafayette talks about making a move against the witches. Sookie gets told to leave everything behind for her fairy family. With promos like this, I’m always amazed that they manage to fit everything in to the actual episode. It seems like so much information to put on screen when it’s condensed in to 30 seconds. Check out some new casting news regarding a new vampire and the return of a another – both vampires!

So who’s stoked for episode three? Shout out in the comments.

True Blood Season 5 – Vampire King Denis O’Hare Returns

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off

Russell Edgington (Denis o'Hare) gathering Talbot's remains

Denis O’Hare, who excellently portrays Russell Edgington on True Blood recently hinted that the king of the vampires would be making a return, but he didn’t know when that return would be happening. Fans can now breathe a little easier because Film School Rejects had a chance to talk with O’Hare and discovered plans are a little more concrete these days.

“They were definitely bringing me back,” O’Hare reveals, “it was just a matter of if they wanted to bring me back the last couple episodes or bring me back at the beginning. So they decided to do it at the beginning of season 5.”

O’Hare also shared a little bit about what makes Russell such an interesting character to watch, describing the balance between Edgington’s menace and child-like wonder, “I always, as an actor, have a private back-story which I never tell anybody. One day I will. But his back-story is really fascinating. He came from a very weird place. I think the thing that you think about vampires is you think about them being urbane and sort of like lethargic and really cool, and very, very, unflappable. I thought it doesn’t have to be that way. There’s nothing written in the vampire rules that says they all have to be really slick, styling people.

And I love that Russell has this intense passion for life; literally a passion for living and a passion for life. I think that actually forms his kind of childlike quality.”

Even though we have to go through Season 4 without O’Hare, he’ll still be making his presence known on the small screen in FX’s American Horror Story, as well as on the big screen in Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar, and True Blood fans will have some new faces to keep them company during Edgington’s absence, including Caroline Bellefleur and a new character described as “an ancient vampire with a wicked thirst.”

Whether you’re a True Blood newbie or been with Sookie from the very first episode, you’ll might also want to check out the Boomtron Podcast for Episode 1 of Season 4 to see what our vampy ladies have to say about what’s going on down in Bon Temps.

True Blood is an American television drama series created and produced by Alan Ball. It is based on The Southern Vampire Mysteries series of novels by Charlaine Harris, and details the co-existence of vampires and humans in Bon Temps, a fictional, small town in the state of Louisiana. Sookie Stackhouse, a telepathic barmaid finds comfort in the company of vampires since they have no brainwave activity for her to read. She and her brother Jason were raised by her grandmother after losing their parents in a flood and she tries to keep her telepathic ability a secret. Thanks largely in part to the creation of a Japanese-made synthetic blood called True Blood vampires have made their existence known to the world. Sookie works at the bar ‘Merlotte’s’ which is owned and operated by her boss Sam Merlotte who has a secret of his own.

The first season received critical acclaim and won several awards, including one Golden Globe and an Emmy. True Blood – We just got our first script

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off

Jody in Crown Point, Ind.: I know True Blood is starting up again soon. Got anything?
Gold stars for keeping track of TB‘s shooting schedule! “Three more weeks and we’re baaack!” Janina Gavankar sings to us. “We just got out first script. It is intense. As you can imagine, stuff goes crazy right off the bat!” Unfortunately, that’s pretty much all we got out of her, since True Blood loves to keep their spoilers secret…even from the cast! “They tell us nothing,” she admits. “We actually have no idea. All I can promise is drama right off the top.”

True Blood is introducing the woman who gave life to late werewolf packmaster Marcus, and they found one tough mother to play her.

My Name is Earl character actress Dale Dickey — who knows a thing or two about channeling formidable, backwoods matriarchs (see: her acclaimed, award-winning performance in last year’s Winter’s Bone) — is joining the HBO hit as Annie, Marcus’ werewolf mother.

Powerful and respected within the back due to her late son’s position, Annie is determined to perform a particular ritual. Might said ritual involve making Alcide pay for whacking her demon spawn?

Dickey is set to recur throughout TB‘s upcoming fifth season.

True Blood Season 4 Episode 1 She’s Not There : Evan Rachel Wood has said “True Blood” fans can expect an “epic” fight between her character, Queen Sophie Anne of Louisiana, and Stephen Moyer’s Bill Compton, when the show returns this summer.

“Of course there will be a resolution. And we’ll just have to wait and see what happens, but it will be epic,” Evan said of the fight scene between the two vampires that began just as Season 3 of the Alan Ball series wrapped up last fall, when asked by reporters following her 2011 Winter TCA panel for her HBO miniseries “Mildred Pierce.”

While she couldn’t reveal plot details, she said she has a feeling Queen Sophie Anne, who makes her living illegally pushing vampire blood, may have a reversal of fortunes.

“I think she’ll get what she deserves,” Evan laughed.

Evan revealed she’s filmed one episode so far, reuniting with Stephen.

“It’s been great. It’s one of the funnest sets I’ve worked on,” she said of being back. “[There's]‘s just always something crazy [happening].”

There will be “lots of blood,” she added.

The actress, who is also cast in a March 2011 HBO miniseries, “Mildred Pierce,” said she’s glad to be back on set of the vampire show.

“‘True Blood’ is just a blast; it’s fun; it’s scary; it’s sexy; it’s hilarious,” she said.

The fourth season’s casting of “True Blood” is shaping up with three new additions. To play recurring characters on the HBO show when it returns next year are Christina Moore, Neil Hopkins and Chris Butler who are the alumni of “That ’70s Show“, “Lost” and “The Good Wife” respectively.

Moore, according to Deadline, is playing Suzanne McKittrick, “a WASPy Texas housewife who possesses certain special abilities.” When reporting the casting call, EW also noted that Suzanne will throw a hootenanny to bond with ‘her kind’. The actress is still attached to “Hawthorne” but she would shoot her part during the TNT series’ break which is before spring.

Meanwhile, Hopkins is to take the role of Claudine’s mysterious twin brother named Claude. In the book, Claude is a distant cousin to Sookie’s father and is described absolutely breathtaking for women. However his interest is for men and he works as a stripper at a club in Monroe called Hooligans.

Butler is cast as Emory, “a prissy and conservative shapeshifter with his own agenda.” Little is known about this character.

The show has found actors for several of its major characters in season 4 but is yet to announce who will be an Asian-American cage fighter and Queen Mab.
