The renewal means we’ll get an answer to what happened at the conclusion of Season 7 when [spoilers ahead!] a gunman’s sights danced around the Botwin clan’s heads and came to a stop on Nancy’s. The season finale cut to black after the sound of a gunshot. Obviously Nancy’s brains ended up all over the place and Season 8 will be about Silas, Andy, and Shane fighting each other in a nasty battle to take over the drug business Nancy built up. Well, probably not.
I’ll admit I stopped watching the show sometime in the middle of Season 3 when I thought it lost its way, but I’ve heard that last season was a bounceback year for the show. What’s your take on the renewal news? Are you happy it’s back or do you think all that’s left is resin?

Last week on 27th June, Monday the long wait of Weeds episodes‘ fans came to an end as they saw the premiere episode of Weeds Season 7. We all had been desperately waiting to watch what was going to happen in Nancy Botwin’s (Mary Louise Parker) life after she confesses murder of Pilar. And finally we got to see that in the premiere episode.
The Weeds Season 7 premiere episode “Bags” was interesting, loaded with several twists and taking the series three years ahead. Nancy’s relation with her jail roommate was a shock to some and the mystery of the oven mitts that her roommate had given to her was revealed in the end. And when Nancy opened the suitcase in car trunk she had a smile on her face seeing grenades and other ammunitions, that scene came as a surprise.
I am really eager to watch the upcoming episode of weeds Season 7 as I want to see what will Nancy do with those ammunitions. Will she be starting a business of ammunitions or does she have other plans for using them?
Other than this the upcoming Weeds Season 7 episode 2 will have Nancy trying to make herself comfortable with New York City where she now lives. Joining her back in this new life will be two members of her family, Andy and Shane, as they give her a surprise visit. Will love to see Nancy’s expressions as she sees them, as her family was the reason behind her getting caught by the cops?

LOS ANGELES, CA – (September 20, 2010) – On the heels of record-breaking premiere night ratings for both original series, SHOWTIME has picked up new seasons of its hit comedies THE BIG C and WEEDS. Season 2 of THE BIG C (from Sony Pictures Television) and WEEDS (from Lionsgate) will premiere on the network in 2011.
THE BIG C took the country by storm last month as more than 6.5 million people viewed the premiere episode across various platforms, making it the network’s highest-rated original series premiere in 8 years. The night kicked off with WEEDS, which also garnered over 6 million viewers – a record premiere episode for the series.

SHOWTIME’s critically acclaimed comedy series WEEDS took to the open road for season six, to hilarious ends. Dubbed by TV Guide as “….TV’s most compelling bad mama,” Nancy Botwin (Mary-Louise Parker in her Golden Globe Award-winning performance) and family are now on the lam after Shane (Alexander Gould) killed Mexican VIP Pilar (Kate del Castillo) with a croquet mallet. To elude the Mexican FBI, police and mafia, they grab what they can, toss their cell phones and IDs and get rolling, taking odd jobs and meeting new characters along the way (season six guest stars include Richard Dreyfuss, Linda Hamilton, Mark Paul Gosselaar, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Alanis Morissette and more). WEEDS is executive produced by creator Jenji Kohan, Roberto Benabib and Matthew Salsberg and produced by Lionsgate.
Two characters on “Weeds” are due to be back for the sixth season. Jennifer Jason Leigh and Alanis Morissette have signed on to reprise their roles as Nancy’s older sister Jill and Nancy’s obstetrician Dr. Audra Kitson when the show returns August 16.
Both Jill and Audra happen to have something in common, Andy. The former once slept with the brother in law of Nancy and the latter dated him. No clue yet how they would fuse themselves in the new season’s storyline. The end of last season saw Nancy and her entourage fleeing after Shane struck Pilar with a croquet mallet.
Recently it was announced that Mark-Paul Gosselaar is recruited as the new love interest for Nancy. However, his appearance is only scheduled for one episode. Meanwhile, Linda Hamilton will be the new addition to the show, playing a pot grower in Seattle.
