Thomas Gibson Back For Criminal Minds Season 7
Talk about waiting until the last minute am I right? With just two weeks to go until production begins on Criminal Mind‘s seventh season, Thomas Gibson has finally renewed his contract to star on the CBS show. Negotiations went on for what seems like an eternity and it certainly looks like Gibson got what he wanted. The deal he signed is more than just renewal . They say he’s signed up for two more years of the show and increased his salary to mid-to-high seven figures. OH and he is also getting a signing bonus. That’s a deal no one could complain about. Well they could, but they’d be huge d-bags.
With Gibson now back for sure and the return of A.J. Cook and Paget Brewster, the show will have the same cast it had after Mandy Patinkin left. Could you imagine how crazy things would have been if Gibson didn’t sign for another two weeks? The writers have been breaking stories not knowing whether or not his character Aaron Hotchner would be appearing. That must be stressful. Joe Mantegna clearly didn’t feel the pressure when last week he said he wasn’t worried about the situation.
At least Gibson has been a good sport through out the negotiation period, making appearances at LA Screenings and a press junket in London. Deep down he must have known he’d be coming back. I like to think he actually lowered his asking price so he could prevent any delays in production.
