I hear what makes this drama work is that neither the writing nor the performers take Pippa’s meltdown that seriously. Rebecca Miller might experience a perfect indie storm here with her film’s good reviews, its perfect release-date positioning, and Robin Wright (Penn)’s on-again divorce proceedings in full effect. Also, Julianne Moore plays a Sapphic bad-girl in a flashback sequence!
