There are many different ways we can handle stressful situations.  Some reactions to stress can be harmful to your health and affect your immune system, give you headaches and depression.  However there are positive ways to handle stress or prevent it from becoming a negative situation.  Time management is a great way to prevent stressful situations from occurring.  Making list can help you organize, keep focused and prioritize what needs to be done first.  Not everything has to be done in a day, it’s okay to transfer unfinished items on tomorrow's list.  Preparing for yourself for the following day the night before can also help your morning to run smoother.  I like to look and see what the weather is going to be like so I can plan out my outfit.  I also get my snack bag together and put any items I need the following day next to my keys and purse.  

Getting regular exercise is also another way to help manage stress levels.  Exercise can be as simple as a 30 minute walk or as intense as a boot camp.  When you exercise you increase blood flow and oxygen in the body, as well as decrease chances for cardiovascular disease or diabetes.  If you can’t always find the time for a class or make it to the gym, you can work out from home.  There are so many online videos you can watch and do your work out at home.  Getting a monthly massage and adjustment with your San Deigo Chiropractor can be a great way to help manage stress.  Stress can cause misaglinments in the spine and put compression on nerves which can cause addional negative symptoms.  San Diego Chiropractors agree when the nervous system is free of interference people are happier, get sick less often and just feel better! 

Getting out and enjoying nature is a great way to keep stress levels low.  Connecting with the earth and disconnecting from technology at least once a week will help your mind and body to reset.  While you are out enjoying nature, take a moment to sit and meditate.  This is a great way to help clear the mind and work toward inner peace.  For the first 5 minutes of my meditation I like to focus on breath and take long mindful inhales and exhales.  Slow mindful breathing can help with stress and anxiety.  We will always have stresses in our lives, how we deal with it can make all the difference!  Stay positive!
