Twilight love triangle: How will this love story twist in the latest movie ‘New Moon’

What a difference a year makes.
Twilight lovers in and around Kalamazoo are gearing up to see the newest big-screen addition in the saga, “New Moon.” Whether you’re Team Edward, Team Jacob or just can’t get enough of this vampire love story, we’ve got good news: Tickets aren’t sold out in the Kalamazoo area.
Not so good news: We can’t guarantee teenage Twi-hards will be able to contain their squeals and screams during the movie.
So which team are you on? Let’s break down some of the heartthrobs’ assets.
TEAM EDWARD:
Edward CullenWhat’s not to love about Edward? He’s perfect, right? A perfectly proportionate face, strong body, perfectly tussled hair and eyes to get lost in … No wonder Bella Swan can’t stay away from him. The danger Edward brings has the same appeal other badboys have on girls. Not all of his family members approve of this romance, just like Romeo and Juliet. Although that diamond-like skin reflects his sometimes stubborn and over-protective personality, he’s always looking out for what’s best for Bella. Sometimes, without her consent.
The Basics
Name: Edward Anthony Masen Cullen.
Age: 17… OK, 108.
Birthdate: June 20, 1901.
Parents: Edward and Elizabeth Masen.
His backstory: In 1918, at age 17, having lost his mortal family to the deadly Spanish Influenza, Edward found himself at death’s door. While receiving treatment in Chicago, he came under the care of the enigmatic Dr. Carlisle Cullen. His mother had made a final wish that the young doctor do all within his power to prevent the death of her son from the same disease. It is unclear whether or not she was aware of the fate she was assigning to him. Dr. Cullen complied with her request the only way he knew how: by transforming Edward into a vampire.
TEAM JACOB:
Jacob BlackJacob is definitely one of the good guys. He’s always there for Bella, as “New Moon” will show, and there’s something very honest about him. He’s a bit immature, but also very fun-loving, carefree and cheers everyone up. Bella and Jacob always have a good time together whether it’s on the back of a motorcycle or hanging out with their dads. His family has been close with Bella’s since childhood, so there’s a sense of comfort there that Edward doesn’t have. Oh, and did I mention Jacob is totally ripped and is shirtless … a lot?

Age: 16.

Parents: Billy and Sarah Black.
His backstory: A member of the Quileute Tribe of Native Americans in La Push, Wash. In “New Moon,” Jacob and Bella’s friendship will be tested as they learn what happens whenever vampires, such as the Cullens, are around the tribe’s land.
