Yellowstone fans are looking forward to the upcoming episode of the prequel series to the Western melodrama, 1883.
The historical drama airs on Paramount Plus and chronicles the ancestors of John Dutton (Kevin Costner). Fans are curious about the relationship between James (Tim McGraw) and Elsa (Isabel May) Dutton and John.
The ‘Yellowstone’ Dutton Family Tree Details
Yellowstone follows a Montana-based family similar to the Roys from Succession. Take, for example, Season 4, Episode 7, in which John announces his candidacy for governor on the spur of the moment, just as his adoptive son, Jamie, launches his candidacy.

John’s Great Grandfather, James Dutton [migrated to Montana with His Family.]
With his wife Margaret and children, James Dutton (Tim McGraw) is eager to start afresh life in Montana.
He has been impoverished his entire life and is eager to build a better future for his family.
John Dutton senior, one of his sons, went on to become John Dutton’s grandfather.
There’s another John Dutton Junior in the mix, played by Dabney Coleman.

John’s Great-Grandma, Margaret Dutton
Margaret is James’s wife in the prequel series, and she is played by Faith Hill, McGraw’s real-life wife.
The series’ co-lead and her spouse come from a lengthy line of ancestors.
Her family has worked for decades to protect and grow the land they own.
In the series, she has a daughter named Elsa. Margaret is the great-grandmother of John.
John’s Grand Aunt, Elsa Dutton
Elsa (Isabel May) is the series’ main narrator, and she is James and Margaret’s eldest daughter.

Costner’s character is fathered by John Dutton Junior, who is grandfathered by John Dutton Senior.

In Season 4 of Yellowstone, Beth takes Carter, a 14-year-old, under her wing.
In Season 4, Beth takes under her wing a 14-year-old called Carter (Finn Little), causing an unanticipated gap between her and her colleague, Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser).
Carter’s father died about the same time that John Dutton was released from the hospital following the Season 3 finale’s devastating gunfight.
However, Beth’s friendship with Carter swiftly becomes tense. Carter eventually obtains a less-than-glamorous job as a ranch hand on the Dutton property.
Season 4 follows Carter’s quest for self-discovery, with Carter stating at one point that when he grows up, he wants to be Rip.
Kayce Dutton, John Jr.’s son, and Monica Recently moved away.
In Season 4, Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) and Monica (Kelsey Asbille Chow) share a variety of new experiences.
They find out that another baby is on the way in Season 4, Episode 8. Tate, their son, is theirs (Brecken Merrill). The family has lately relocated to a new residence.

Robert Long shot Lee Dutton in Season 1 of ‘Yellowstone.’
The terrible loss of John Dutton’s oldest son, Lee, was depicted in Season 1, Episode 1 of Yellowstone (Dave Annable).
After attempting to return the livestock from the Broken Rock Reservation, he was killed. Robert Long, Kayce’s brother-in-law, shot him.
Without the ranch employees, Lloyd Pierce (Forrie J. Smith), Walker (Ryan Bingham), Colby (Denim Richards), and the rest of the crew who aren’t formally part of the Dutton family, the storey would be incomplete.
