“Black Adam” Movie Ending Explained – A 2022 American superhero movie called Black Adam is based on the same-named DC Comics character. It is a spin-off from Shazam! (2019) and the eleventh movie in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU), acting as the first entry in Phase One. It was produced by New Line Cinema, DC Films, Seven Bucks Productions, and FlynnPictureCo.

The movie, whose producers included Dwayne Johnson, also stars Aldis Hodge, Noah Centineo, Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari, Quintessa Swindell, Bodhi Sabongui, and Pierce Brosnan. It is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and written by Adam Sztykiel, Rory Haines, and Sohrab Noshirvani.

Black Adam’s villainous role was confirmed for Johnson to play in Shazam! early in the film’s development, but the producers ultimately chose to give the role its own movie. Sztykiel started working there in October 2017. The COVID-19 pandemic caused the release date for Collet-Serra, who entered in June 2019, to be postponed from December 2021. Over the course of the following year, more actors were cast, including four JSA members, and Haines and Noshirvani revised the script. April to August 2021 saw filming in Trilith Studios in Los Angeles and Atlanta, Georgia.

The movie Black Adam had its global premiere on October 3, 2022, in Mexico City, and Warner Bros. Pictures released it in theatres nationwide on October 21, 2022. “Black Adam” (2022) Story Plot

Anh-Kot, the oppressive monarch of Kahndaq, invented the Crown of Sabbac, which was reputed to bestow enormous power upon its bearer. The heroic Champion of Kahndaq, Teth-Adam, kills Anh-Kot and overthrows his rule after a young slave boy, after attempting to stage a revolt, is given the ability of Shazam.

The Intergang currently oppresses the Kahndaq people. With the assistance of her brother Karim and Samir and Ishmael Gregor, two of her coworkers, archaeologist Adrianna Tomaz attempts to find the Crown of Sabbac. Intergang ambushes them as Adrianna receives the crown. When Adrianna reads an incantation, Teth-Adam, who she thinks is awake, rises from his sleep and kills most of the Intergang soldiers.

After learning of the incident, public servant Amanda Waller gets in touch with Carter Hall/Hawkman and the JSA (Justice Society of America). Kent Nelson/Doctor Fate, Maxine Hunkel/Cyclone, and Albert “Al” Rothstein/Atom Smasher to ask for help in apprehending Adam. When the JSA arrives, Adam is already wreaking more havoc on the city and the Intergang soldiers. According to the JSA, Adam was not a hero during his lifetime but rather a lunatic who was jailed rather than interred.

Amon, Adrianna’s teenage son, who has stolen the crown, is being pursued by Intergang leader Ishmael as it is made clear who he is. The JSA, Adrianna, and Adam want to exchange the crown for Amon. When they get to Ishmael, he confesses that he is the final descendant of King Anh-Kot and demands the crown to take his due place on the throne. Adrianna agrees to give it to him in exchange for saving Amon’s life. Ishmael breaks the terms of the agreement and shoots Amon. Adam, who is trying to save Amon, loses control once more and uses his power to demolish the hideout, killing Ishmael.

Adam runs away, feeling guilty. He reveals to Hawkman that he is not Teth-Adam, the legendary Champion of Kahndaq, but instead the Champion’s father; the assassins of the king chose to kill Hurut’s family to exact revenge on their king rather than Teth-Adam and Hurut’s mother.

And Hurut had given his power to his father to save him, turning him into Black Adam, only for Anh-assassins Kot’s. After killing the king’s warriors in a fit of wrath, Adam was summoned by the wizards of Shazam, who put him in prison after deciding he wasn’t worthy. Adam turns himself into the JSA and is sent to Waller’s underwater prison because he feels unable to become Khandaq’s Champion. A short while later, Fate notices a troubling vision of one of the JSA’s future deaths. As they make their way back to the city, the gang realizes that Ishmael forced Adam to kill him while he was wearing the Crown of Sabbac so that he might be resurrected as the demon Sabbac himself, and he emerges from the abyss to take his throne.

When Sabbac calls the undead to Kahndaq, the JSA arrives in time to attempt to halt him. In Anh-ruins, Kot’s JSA is getting ready to face Sabbac. Still, Fate summons a mystical force field that prevents Hawkman, Cyclone, and Atom Smasher from entering while simultaneously revealing that Hawkman’s demise can be averted through his own sacrifice. Then Fate battles Sabbac alone while simultaneously releasing Adam via astral projection. When Sabbac kills Fate, the force barrier is broken, and the others are free to engage in combat. Adam shows up just as Sabbac is about to murder the JSA and confronts him, killing him. Adam accepts his new position as Kahndaq’s guardian and king, and the JSA departs on friendly terms.

In a scene during the credits, Waller issues a stubborn Adam a warning to never leave the country before Superman shows up and recommends the two of them should speak.

The “Black Adam” Ending Explained

Voiceover narration tells us the history of Black Adam. When Intergang takes over the nation while looking for this movie’s McGuffin, the Crown of Sabbac, Teth-Adam (The Rock), who was given the power of Shazam some 5,000 years ago in the city of Kahndaq, is roused from his slumber. Adrianna Tomaz, an archaeologist, is the first to arrive, but Intergang jumps her, her brother Karim, and their coworkers (Sarah Shahi, Mohammed Amer). Adrianna uses an enchantment to awaken Teth-Adam as any rational person would. He decimates most of Intergang before being injured by an Eternium rocket, which he is susceptible to.

The Justice Society of America, comprised of Hawkman (Aldis Hodge), Doctor Fate (Pierce Brosnan), Cyclone (Quintessa Swindell), and Atom Smasher, responds to Amanda Waller’s (Viola Davis) request for assistance after learning of the Intergang-Kahndaq conflict (Noah Centineo). What is the J.S.A.’s goal? Prevent Teth-Adam from turning bad.

Amon, Adrianna’s son (Bodhi Sabongui), believes Teth-Adam should essentially be the Kahndaq hero and advises that he go by the name Black Adam since it sounds cooler. The Justice Society and Black Adam eventually engage in combat. Still, during a brief lull in the action, the team explains that thousands of years ago, Adam lost control of his tremendous strength, obliterating the majority of Kahndaq. Therefore, Adrianna and the J.S.A. decided to strive to persuade Black Adam to be a hero rather than a villain.

However, Black Adam eventually admits to Hawkman that his son, not he, was Kahndaq’s Champion. He offered Adam his ability to save his father, but he perished in the process. That is what motivated Black Adam to invade the realm all those years ago in retaliation for his son’s passing.

But now that he feels guilty, he gives himself up to the J.S.A., depowers, and is imprisoned underwater to prevent him from ever losing control again. Ishmael Gregor, an Intergang member who had been killed earlier in the movie (Marwan Kenzari), is then revived as Sabbac. He then calls forth several Kahndaq’s undead to form a skeletal army. Therefore, having a Black Adam who is well-equipped to combat them would be very helpful.

Doctor Fate astral projects to Adam just before Sabbac kills him after the J.S.A. cannot stop the villain. Then, with help from Hawkman brandishing the deceased Doctor Fate’s helmet, Black Adam saves the day. At some point, Adam simply tears Sabbac in half, long way. He separates himself like he grips his two horns.

Ultimately, Black Adam is now okay with the J.S.A., and they have realized that sometimes they need someone with a darker edge who can rip a monster in half! The throne of Kahndaq is destroyed at the end of the movie, with Black Adam occupying it and declaring that the city doesn’t need a ruler—it needs a protector.

We leave him there, guarding Kahndaq and avoiding conflict with Amanda Waller. Speaking of Amanda Waller, there is the scene during the credits.

As Sabbac unleashes his wrath, the last two remaining opponents are Adam and Hawkman. Hawkman is shockingly impaled by the devil, giving the impression that Fate’s sacrifice was in vain. Hawkman, however, was donning Fate’s helmet in remembrance of a trick Kent Nelson had taught him during the course of their years of collaboration. Actually, Sabbac killed a clone, allowing additional Hawkman clones to show up and overthrow the dictator.

As a result, Adam has the opportunity to seize Sabbac by the horns and soar into the air alongside him, where, encouraged by Hawkman, he finally unleashes all of his power. This time, it’s under control as he manages to split Sabbac in half and melt the villain’s head before dumping the lava-like body to the ground. Hawkman ultimately departs with Cyclone and Atom Smasher after being impressed and relieved. Although he can detect that Adam is still a loose cannon, he does ask Adrianna and Amon to keep the antihero in control.

Finally, Adam ascends to the throne and considers how to govern the people who are now wholly behind him. As a ruler, he can at least deter people because he knows he cannot rely on other countries and their military. The throne, however, is a symbol constructed over many years on the backs of the underprivileged, so the Champion resolves to destroy it. He also acknowledges that he is not a hero but can provide his nation with the defense it needs. Adam appears ominous and threatening as the film comes to a close, hinting that any intruders will be met with hostility and vicious aggression.
