The Amazon Prime Video neo-noir fantasy series ‘Carnival Row,’ created by René Echevarria and Travis Beacham, follows Vignette Stonemoss, a fairy who flees her war-torn homeland of Anoun to the Republic of Burgue.
Vignette is able to gather a number of refugees to accompany her on her journey, but she is unable to complete the fleet.
The ship is devastated when it encounters a winter storm, but Vignette manages to flee as she washes up on the beach.
The series follows Vignette’s life in Burgue as she encounters her lover Philo, whom she thought was killed in the war.
The play is based on the film script ‘A Killing on Carnival Row,’ written by Travis Beacham.
‘Carnival Row’ was hailed for its engaging production design and visual effects when it first appeared in August 2019, yet it was panned for its thin storyline and mythical underpinning.
Nonetheless, the show’s ambition to combine fantasy genre elements with political commentary was warmly received, increasing interest in Vignette and Philo’s future.

Release Date for Season 2 of Carnival Row
Season 1 of ‘Carnival Crow’ was released in its entirety on Amazon Prime Video on August 30, 2019.
The Ist season consists of eight episodes, each lasting between 50 and 67 minutes.
Here’s what we know about the upcoming second season. Even before the Ist season of ‘Carnival Row’ premiered, Amazon confirmed the second season on July 27, 2019.
Filming for the second season began on November 11, 2019, in the Czech Republic, but was cut short in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 epidemic.
The crew had to put the filming on hold for a bit but returned after a break to finish the two-week schedule under rigorous pandemic measures.
In May 2021, production resumed in Prague to complete the remaining scenes with Orlando Bloom (Philo).
Finally, on September 16, 2021, the filming came to an end. Erik Oleson took over as showrunner for season 2 as Marc Guggenheim was busy with other projects.
Travis Beacham, the show’s co-creator, has also left owing to creative differences. Given these adjustments and the lengthy post-production time, the series may require extra patience from its audience.

What is the plot of Carnival Row Season 2?
Philo and Vignette solve the riddle of the murders in Burgue in the season 1 finale, which culminates in an epic fight.
Piety Breakspear, who believed in the prophecy that Philo would rise to great power, is responsible for those murders, Philo understands.
Piety, the envious creator of the Dark Asher monster, is in charge of the killings that occurred earlier in the season, including the murder of Philo’s mother.
Absalom, who was attempting to persuade Piety that Philo would not become a problem, is killed by her.
Philo defeats the Dark Asher after discovering the truth. Meanwhile, Vignette assassinates Piety in order to restore normalcy to Carnival Row.
The second season of ‘Carnival Row‘ will begin with Philo accepting his fae identity in order to join Vignette and her company.
The season will continue to explore the problems and segregation that exist between the faes and humans, which could lead to a revolt.
Philo will use this time to reflect on his half-fae, half-human identity and choose his allies and sides.
Former showrunner Marc Guggenheim discussed his plans for season 2 with regard to Philo’s identity dilemma in an interview with EW in August 2019.
“Unfortunately, the trick for Philo isn’t as simple as him accepting his fae identity. He isn’t truly fae in the eyes of the fae. He’s a half-blooded vampire.
As a result, he is essentially a man without a country. He isn’t human enough for humans, but he isn’t fae enough for fae either.
He sort of exists in a Twilight Zone-like condition. So that’s something more he’ll be dealing with in season 2,” he explained.
The second instalment will also feature challenges and changes in Philo and Vignette’s relationship, as both of them will be fighting for survival in different situations.
As Imogen and Agreus set sail for unknown lands, the season will focus on their storyline as well as the adventures they encounter in new worlds.
