Recap of Season 9 Episode 1 of Chicago P.D.
The new episode, titled ‘Closure,’ begins with Upton suggesting that she and Halstead marry, but the former must first overcome the guilt that has plagued her since the incident with Voight.
Burgess is in severe condition at the hospital, while Deputy Superintendent Samantha Miller notifies Intelligence about Roy’s SUV, which was discovered at a warehouse.
Despite the fact that the driver is dead, Upton and Voight notice that another vehicle was present.
At the home of the suspect, Mark, they discover a laptop. After understanding that it contains footage of him and Upton at the warehouse, Voight removes it.
Mark, who has taken a woman into a building, is quickly apprehended by the team. In the building, Voight and Upton approach Mark, who threatens to expose them, and Halstead shoots him through the glass just as he is ready to attack.
The man dies as a result of his gunshot wound.
While Adam takes Makayla to see an injured Kim, Miller informs that the FBI has arrived to keep an eye on Roy.
Upton returns seconds later to inform Kim that the suspect who shot her has been apprehended. In truth, Upton was the one who killed him.
Finally, Halstead responds to the proposal by getting down on one knee and proposing to her.
