Chucky Season 1 Spoiler
Chucky is a sequel to Cult of Chucky, the eighth film in the Child’s Play franchise.
Chucky, the horrific red-haired children’s doll, is possessed by the spirit of a fictional serial killer, Charles Lee Ray, in this series.
A vintage Chucky doll is offered for sale in a calm American suburban town in the series. As fans of Chucky will know, Chucky’s appearance can only mean one thing: everyone’s life in the tranquil hamlet is in jeopardy.
The beginnings of Charles Lee Ray and the evolution of Chucky will be explored in Chucky on Syfy and the USA Network.
According to Deadline, the series’ premise teases: “A sequence of horrible murders throws a beautiful American community into upheaval, exposing the society’s hypocrisies and secrets.
“In the meantime, the appearance of enemies — and allies — from Chucky’s past threatens to reveal the truth behind the killings, as well as the demon doll’s secret origins as an apparently regular child who became this infamous monster.”
Mancini, the creator and writer of the Chucky film franchise, will also helm the premiere episode of the show.
Along with TV writer-producer Nick Antosca, creator of Syfy’s anthology series Channel Zero, David Kirschner is at the helm of the series.
The show’s executive producer is Emmy-nominated Harley Peyton.
Chucky creator Mancini said in a statement announcing the series order: “I’ve always wanted to put Chucky to the small screen, and Syfy is the ideal fit.
“The programme will be a new perspective on the property, allowing us to explore Chucky’s character in a way that the television series format allows us to do while staying faithful to the original vision that has scared audiences for over three decades.”
