The Summer I Turned Pretty: Do Conrad and Belly End Up Together?

Do Conrad and Belly End Up Together

Do Conrad and Belly End Up Together in The Summer I Turned Pretty? – Jenny Han is best known for The Summer I Turned Pretty, a romantic YA trilogy. Every summer of her life, Isabel “Belly” Conklin has spent at a seaside house owned by Susannah, her mother’s childhood best friend, who has two teenage kids, Conrad and Jeremiah. Her trip isn’t solely about romance, but the question of which boy she’ll wind up with is undeniably intriguing. Throughout the three books, “The Summer I Turned Pretty,” “It’s Not Summer Without You,” and “We’ll Always Have Summer,” Belly matures, learns some difficult life lessons, and realizes she has decidedly non-platonic affections for both boys.

Nicole informs Belly (Lola Tung) in the first season of the show ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty‘ (2022) that no one forgets their first love. Belly, whose first love is Conrad, is no exception. Even though he never truly looked at her that way, she’s been in love with him for a long time. Belly fantasizes about a life with Conrad whenever she attempts to find love elsewhere.

Belly ultimately gets what she wants after a tug-of-war with Conrad, who keeps tugging at her emotions. Conrad admits that he loves her as well and wishes for them to be together. They close the first season on a high note, but there are other things at play as well. Is that kiss between them a sign of a happy ending? What we know about Conrad and Belly’s future is as follows.

Do Conrad and Belly End Up Together in The Summer I Turned Pretty

Is it Possible that Conrad and Belly will End Up Together?

Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Belly kiss on the beach towards the end of the first season of ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty.’ Belly has always desired to be with Conrad. She’d had feelings for him since she was ten years old. She wants to be recognised as more than Steven’s little sister by Conrad when she turns sixteen this summer. She expects Conrad to feel the same way about her. He, on the other hand, is going through his own inner turmoil and continues to push her away.

Conrad can’t help but be drawn to Belly, despite his best efforts to stay away from her. From how he stares at her, it’s evident that he loves her as well. He is, however, struggling with the sadness of losing his mother, and being alone is the best way for him to cope. It also appears that being happy with Belly at a time when his mother is dying in secret does not appeal to him. Conrad immediately backs off when Jeremiah declares his affection for her.

Conrad and Belly appear to be rotating in each other’s circle no matter what they do or how hard they attempt to stay away from each other. Conrad was the greatest impediment to their love story. He is constantly there for her, and at times, he reverts to his old, warm self, with whom she can have a genuine conversation. But, in the end, he recognises his feelings and is ready to make a serious commitment to her.

Even if Belly chooses to be with Conrad, things will still be difficult for her. Belly has always loved him; therefore, giving him another chance or choosing him every time isn’t tough for her. But, the last time we saw her, she had also kissed Jeremiah. It appeared that they were in a healthy relationship based on how things were going. While Conrad and Jeremiah are both affected by their mother’s death, Belly would find it difficult to break Jeremiah’s heart, especially after he has just learned that his mother is dying.

What Happens In the Book Series

In the Book Series, What Happens?

Since the beginning of the story, Belly and Conrad have been endgame. They had always loved one another, despite their lack of timing and other obstacles. Their affections remain the same until the very conclusion of the book series, and they end up together.

Conrad and Belly meet after the events of the first novel. When Susannah dies, though, things get more difficult. As a result of his grief, Conrad reverts to the closed-off shell he’d been living in the previous summer. As a result, Belly and Conrad have to split up due to irreconcilable differences. Following this, Jeremiah tells Belly about his sentiments, and she tries to work with him.

When it is discovered that Jeremiah has cheated on Belly, their relationship comes to a halt. Jeremiah promises to be better to her and begs for her hand in marriage, which she accepts. Belly accepts since she still loves him. However, as Conrad reappears in the picture, she begins to reconsider her decision. Belly’s affection for Conrad interferes with her wedding plans, and Jeremiah soon realises that Belly is still in love with him.

Conrad, like his younger brother, makes no attempt to restore their relationship. In fact, after discovering Jeremiah’s infidelity, he tells Belly that he still loves her and wants her back. All of this results in Belly and Jeremiah’s breakup, but she does not pursue a relationship with Conrad. She decides that it is better for her to take a vacation from both of her brothers and spend a few years away from them.

Belly returns home after spending a year in Spain and reconnects with Conrad. Conrad, on the other hand, is unable to let go of her. He begins to write her letters, and they begin to communicate again. They reconcile, and a few years later, they marry, finally achieving their long-awaited happily ever after.
