HBO’s ‘The Last of Us’: What Happened to Sam? Does He Die?

What Happens to Henry and Sam in the Game

What Happened to Sam? Does Sam Die? – In The Last of Us, two young boys, Henry (Lamar Johnson) and Sam, are evading hunters and heading west to join a rebel group when Joel and Ellie discover them as they travel across the country. Henry was just 10 years old when the show’s cordyceps outbreak began, and he was 17 years old when his younger sibling was born. Since both of his parents are deceased, Henry is highly concerned about his deaf younger brother Sam, but he is aware that he cannot protect him forever.

In HBO’s The Last of Us, Henry and Sam (Keivonn Woodard) first respond negatively to Ellie and Joel because they mistake them for hunters and assault them. After the brothers carefully introduce them to one another, the gang rapidly connects and resolves to attempt an escape together. When they set out, they were aware that there were hunters in the neighbourhood; when they were attacked and forced to flee through the sewers, Henry’s greatest fear was realised, and Sam’s life was in danger.

Does Sam die in the HBO series “The Last of Us”?

The gang discovers an army of infected left behind by sewer-dwelling survivors who attempted to hide from the infected. Joel triggers a booby-trapped door while attempting to run, isolating the group and alerting the infected. They fear and flee, eventually reaching safety outside. The next morning, Sam strikes Ellie while displaying classic signs of infection. Henry shoots Sam to end his suffering before turning the gun on himself.

The day before, Sam’s disease scraped his leg, betraying his identity as a runner. He had told Ellie behind her back, and she had attempted to cure him with her blood, but it had failed.

The scene in which Henry murders Sam was highly challenging to film. Henry’s actor, Lamar Johnson, told Variety that he and the actor became quick friends: “The day we met, we were playing tag in the production offices.” He continued by discussing Keivonn Woodard, who portrays Sam “It felt effortless and natural to converse with Keivonn. It was easy to initiate a conversation with him due to his unbounded enthusiasm and energy.”

Johnson elaborated on how the protagonist, Henry, may have felt when he realised that he had to kill Sam. “If I had to describe it with a single word, it would be it. After everything he’s done to defend Sam and everything they’ve endured together that night, he feels tremendous guilt over how he handled Sam’s death.”

He then expounded on Henry’s decision to commit suicide.”

Finally, he informed her, “You are my purpose.” You are the reason I can still call this location home, although you are no longer a part of it. I am unable to attend. I’ll definitely come to hang out.”

The Last of Us is airing on HBO and streaming on HBO Max.
