In this BBC-HBO fantasy drama series, Jack Thorne creates a small-screen version of acclaimed child novelist Philip Pullman’s hugely popular trilogy of the same name.
The series recounts Lyra’s voyage through a world ruled by the Magisterium, a quasi-religious organisation that does not allow opposing viewpoints to be heard.

When will the 3rd season of His Dark Materials be Released?
Season 2 of ‘His Dark Materials’ started on HBO on November 16, 2020, with the season finale airing on December 28, 2020.
The second season was released eight days earlier in the United Kingdom than in the United States.
It aired on BBC One in the territory on November 8, 2020, and ran through December 20, 2020.
The second season contains seven episodes, each of which lasts between 45 and 55 minutes.

HBO and BBC One have begun production on season three of HIS DARK MATERIALS. The eight-episode third season is based on “The Amber Spyglass,” the final novel in Philip Pullman’s award-winning trilogy.
Production will take place at Wolf Studios Wales stages and on location throughout Wales and England.
Adapting Philip Pullman’s award-winning trilogy of the same name, which is considered a modern masterpiece of imaginative fiction, HIS DARK MATERIALS series follows Lyra (Dafne Keen), a seemingly ordinary but brave young woman from another world.
Logline: Season three will see “Will” (Amir Wilson), the bearer of The Subtle Knife, and “Lyra” (Dafne Keen), the prophesied child, travel through multiple worlds to find and protect each other.

Who is in the cast of His Dark Materials Season 3?
For the third and final season, all of the key cast members will return, although there will be some changes.
Dafne Keen will reprise her role as Lyra Belacqua, with Ruth Wilson in the role of Marisa Coulter. Father Hugh MacPhail will be played by Will Keen once again.

Kit Connor (Pantalaimon, Lyra’s daemon), David Suchet (Kaisa), Joe Tandberg (Iorek Byrnison), Sope Dirisu (Sergi, Ruta Skadi’s daemon), and newcomer Chipo Chung provide the voices for the characters (Xaphania).
Unfortunately, Helen McCrory, who played Asriel’s demon Stelmaria, passed away in April 2021. As a result, it’s unclear whether the vocal role will be recast.

What is the Plot of His Dark Materials Season 3?
Lyra, Will, and the witches continue their quest, lead by Serafina, in the second season’s finale. Ruta Skadi learns about an impending battle between cliff-ghasts and humans.
Mrs. Coulter, meanwhile, is torturing herself to find Lyra’s position in Cittàgazze. We learn in the major reveal that Lyra will be the second Eve, ushering in the second Fall of Man.
While John Parry manages to flee the mob of Magisterium soldiers, Lee does not have the same luck.
As a final resort, he invokes Serafina, but it is too late when Serafina appears. Lee is killed on the spot, and John is not far behind.
But, before he dies, John Parry speaks to Will and tells him to accompany the angels to Asriel. There is a war brewing, and the angels want Lord Asriel to fight with them.
Mrs. Coulter kidnaps Lyra, who uses visions to connect with Roger.
The third season will be based on ‘The Amber Spyglass,’ the 3rd book in the series. The presentation mostly sticks to the original material’s framework.
As a result, the tale will pick up right after the cliffhanger finale of the 2nd season, with Lyra still in the custody of Magisterium agent Mrs. Coulter.
Will, on the other hand, must play a crucial role as the Subtle Knife’s bearer, especially because it was his father’s dying request.
Will will meet two angels on his quest, Balthamos and Baruch, who will encourage him to join Lord Asriel in the dreary earth.
