Recap of Insecure Season 5 Episode 2
‘Growth, Okay?!’ is the title of the second episode of Season 5, and it appears to be a brief tribute to Issa and Molly’s shaky but enduring friendship.
Despite the issues that tore them apart in season 4, they are now attempting to make up for a lost time, with Molly even making a clumsy but sincere attempt at singing their best friend song.
Issa is joined at work by a new customer, Crenshawn, who wants to put on a grandiose fashion show with her help.
When things don’t go as planned, she has no choice but to compromise. Crenshawn defiantly refuses to make the requested alterations, resulting in a presentation with loud backdrop appearances ranging from motorcycles to drums.
Surprisingly, the sponsor enjoys it, but after Crenshawn’s great victory, he confronts Issa and brands her a sellout.
Molly is getting ready to join a dating app, but the contents of her profile remind her of her past blunders, hinting that she is still dealing with relationship trauma.
Even Issa reconnects with Nathan, but as soon as they kiss, she tears up and says she isn’t ready yet.
