Many celebrities are invited to participate in Disney+’s dance reality series “Dancing with the Stars” each season to showcase their dancing skills. Each participant is partnered with a professional dancer who will serve as their dancing partner and instruct them to assist them. Each pair aspires to defeat the opposing teams and win the season by winning over the judges and spectators.

Who Is Sam Champion?

Samuel James Champion, a weather anchor, best known for his 25-year combined career on Good Morning America and the ABC flagship station WABC-TV, was born on August 13, 1961. On The Weather Channel, he previously co-anchored 23.5 Degrees With Sam Champion and AMHQ: America’s Morning Headquarters.

He left ABC on December 4, 2013, and on January 1, 2014, he started working as managing editor of The Weather Channel. Champion also made an appearance on NBC’s Today. He left NBC and the Weather Channel in 2016, returned to ABC as a stand-in, and then in June 2019, he was hired back to anchor the morning and noon weather on weekdays at WABC-TV.

On August 13, 1961, Champion was born in Paducah, Kentucky, to Sylvia and James H. Champion. Teresa, his sister, is his only sibling. His father, a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps who served in Vietnam, passed away on October 25, 2010. In 1979, he received his diploma from Fairfax High School in Fairfax, Virginia. He completed an internship at Lexington, Kentucky’s WKYT-TV, while earning his B.A. in broadcast journalism from Eastern Kentucky University.

The Champion held positions at WJKS (later WCWJ) in Jacksonville, Florida, and WPSD-TV in Paducah, Kentucky. In 1988, he started working as a weatherman for WABC-Eyewitness TV’s News in New York City. In 2004, he joined Good Morning America for a $1.5 million yearly salary. On April 7, 2008, he made his television debut as the host of Sea Rescue, a programme under Litton’s Weekend Adventure that focuses on animal rescue, rehabilitation, and often release back into the wild.

According to an announcement made in August of that year, the champion joined Good Morning America and ABC News on September 5, 2006.

Chief Meteorologist Ginger Zee, who was on maternity leave, returned to ABC as a guest weather forecaster on Good Morning America to cover for his replacement. Beginning on June 3, 2019, it was reported on May 22 that Champion would return to the morning and noon newscasts on WABC-TV and contribute to ABC News.

On September 8, 2022, Dancing with the Stars season 31 introduced Champion as a contestant. He has Cheryl Burke as a partner.

Who Is Husband of Sam Champion?

Sam Champion is married to Rubem Robierb, a visual artist, sculptor, and photographer living and working in Miami, Florida. His works have drawn the public’s interest and the critics’, and they have been displayed in exhibitions at galleries and museums worldwide. The artist frequently employs metaphors to produce densely packed visuals with hidden meanings for the spectator. His work has a solid connection to the Pop art movement.

In Brazil’s Maranho state of Bacabal, Rubem Robierb was born. He became interested in poetry, photography, and the emotional impact that images may have on viewers at a young age. Robierb relocated to So Paulo at age twenty to attend photography school, but he soon started working as a commercial photographer for fashion publications. Later, he relocated to the US, where he is now living and operating his Miami Beach studio. Robierb, according to Luxe Magazine, was influenced by the artwork of Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat.

2012 saw the union of Rubem Robierb and Sam Champion, his longtime companion and a weather anchor for WABC-TV, Weather Channel, and Good Morning America. The HRC (human rights campaign), Point Foundation, LGBTQ Task Force, Power my Learning, Big Brother Big Sisters, and Best Buddies are just a few of the organisations that Robierb and Champion have actively supported.

Sam and Rubem were married on December 21, 2012, in a private and quick ceremony officiated by Justice George J. Silver of the New York State Supreme Court. Many well-known people attended the event, which was held at Sam’s residence in New York City, New York. These visitors included some of Sam’s fellow “Good Morning America” anchors, like Lara Spencer and Josh Elliot. Sam and Rubem do not currently have any children of their own, but it appears that they do plan to have children in the future.

Sam and Robem are headquartered in different places, so they frequently travel between New York City and Miami, which undoubtedly consumes a sizable portion of their free time. Sam is very proud of his luxury condo in the Big Apple, which boasts a lovely rooftop garden. The couple enjoys spending time together and going to the lovely beaches while they are in Miami. The duo strongly supports human rights, equal marriage, and many other vital concerns. We send our warmest wishes to the two of them and Sam throughout his time on “Dancing with the Stars.”
