Convicted murderer and Satanist Kevin Roby

Who Is Kevin Roby?

In August 1988, Kevin Roby, a Los Angeles resident, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of release for the rape and murder of his sister. Roby first blamed three individuals dressed as ninja warriors for the attack. Roby was a convicted rapist and a former Air Force Academy dropout at the age of 23.

In May, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Robert Altman found Roby guilty of one crime of murder, one count of sodomy, and two counts of r*pe following a bench trial.

In a Los Angeles Times article, Deputy District Attorney R. Wayne Walker said that Kevin Roby allegedly witnessed three men dressed as Japanese ninja warriors abduct his sister Velmalin Hill, 25, from their mother’s home on West 37th Street.

The following day, Roby, who was a witness, was asked to tour the kidnapping crime scene with homicide investigators. During the sweep, officers discovered the sister’s body smeared with dog food in a large trash can.

Details of Hill’s gruesome death, including the fact that she had been raped twice, sodomised, and strangled, placed doubt on Roby’s account of the events and led to his arrest. Finally, he was apprehended and convicted guilty on all counts. Roby was convicted of raping his other sister and sentenced to life in Pelican Bay State Prison’s Supermax.

During his incarceration, Kevin Roby’s interest in Satanism began to develop. Roby’s curiosity eventually permeated his worldview to the point where he no longer had religious views and instead embraced strong Satanic convictions. Without more incident, he was soon placed in a single cell in Pelican Bay under the identity “Satanic Christ.”

Kevin Roby, a convicted murderer and Satanist who was already serving life for murder, strangled to death Lloyd Avery, a former actor and convicted murderer serving life for two murders.

In September of 2005, documentation of the event was obtained. Boyz N the Hood’s Oscar-nominated performance of Avery as a member of the Bloods gang solidified his status as an actor.

Where is Kevin Roby Today?

Lloyd Avery, a former actor best known for portraying a Bloods member in John Singleton’s Academy Award–nominated film Boyz N the Hood, arrived at Pelican Bay in March of 2001 and began living out his on-screen persona. Avery, who was 31 years old at the time, was twice convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison. During a shooting in the Jungle neighbourhood of Los Angeles in July 1999, he murdered two individuals.

Lloyd Avery committed to Christianity, became a leader in the inmate church, and began referring to himself as “Baby Jesus” while incarcerated. The correctional guards who had placed Avery and Kevin Roby, aka Satanic Christ, in the same cell, were entirely unprepared for the horror that was about to unfold.

On the evening of September 4, 2005, Avery and Roby allegedly engaged in a violent altercation over a theological debate, according to inmate reports. Roby concluded the conflict by choking an already injured Avery. He was punching so brutally that blood entered his lungs, ultimately leading to his demise. He then placed Avery’s body on a pentagram he drew on the cell’s floor.

Two days after the murder of Llyod Avery, authorities discovered his mangled body at the crime site. As a demonic warning to God, Kevin Roby painted the prison walls with his blood in a satanic ritual. The official cause of death for the victim was listed as aspiration of blood, with blunt force injuries also playing a role. The 58-year-old offender still serves his sentence in the California Prison for Men in Chino, San Bernardino County.
