Mayfair Witches Episode 4 Recap and ending explained

Mayfair Witches Episode 4 “Curiouser and Curiouser” Recap

In Scotland, at the beginning of Episode 4’s flashback, a group of ladies we assume to be witches can be seen with Suzanne as she laments her mother’s death. In the present day, Rowan has a terrible dream about Ciprien in which Ciprien changes into Lasher. Rowan finds this situation unsettling. As soon as she regains consciousness, she must attend her mother’s burial, and Ciprien has agreed to go with her. They clearly have good feelings for one another, making it more likely that Lasher may feel jealous at some point in the near future.

Before the service starts, Carlotta walks down to the basement to see Delphine, but she finds that she has already passed away and the necklace is missing. This suggests that Lasher will need to talk to Rowan soon. Meanwhile, despite Josephine’s best efforts to convince him, it appears that Cortland, played by Harry Hamlin, won’t be too enthusiastic about attending his niece’s burial. Rowan’s progress toward becoming a powerful witch.

Cortland takes a strand of Dierdre’s hair during the funeral ceremony and tucks it away in his pocket. It was disgusting regardless of whether it was used for such witchcraft or was simply a filthy souvenir. In the meantime, Rowan encounters Carlotta, who promises to provide her with the answers to her questions. When Ciprien’s company learned that a possessed man was actually the one who killed Dierdre, Ciprien was forced to retire. According to Ciprien’s employer, the phrase “possessed” is debatable. Ciprien puts his palm on the face of the man in front of him and says that he did, in fact, kill Dierdre and that he received payment for his crimes. However, Lasher is controlling his actions now, and as a result, Lasher will eventually murder him.

Carlotta tells Rowan all she knows about Ellie’s family’s link to the Mayfairs and about her relationship with them. She also tells her that Dierdre wanted her to be independent of the Mayfairs despite her anguish at losing her daughter. Carlotta also warns Rowan to stay away from anyone who is friends with Lasher. At the service, Rowan gets to meet her entire family, and it turns out that the women in the family have reportedly always kept their magical prowess a closely-kept secret.

Josephine explains to Rowan that she owns the house and is entirely free to do anything she wants with it. Cortland, who Rowan also meets, tells her that Lasher is a gift, as was to be expected. He does point out that he is not her master and that he is there to protect her rather than the other way around. After seeing Cortland and Rowan talking to one another, Carlotta enters the scene. She and her brother get into a fight, and he tells Rowan how Dierdre was treated during her entire life. After the guests have left, Cortland quietly informs his child that Lasher is still inside the house.

Because his boss solely wants him to defend Rowan, Ciprien worries for her. Ciprien feels that his role as her bodyguard, who accompanies her everywhere she goes, must be more than that. Ciprien is always with Rowan. He starts looking into the Mayfairs and finds a diary where a man claims that as long as the woman retained the necklace, she belonged to Lasher. He decides on the woman’s identity using this information. When Rowan eventually finds the necklace and informs him of her discovery, she sends him a photo of herself wearing it. She sends it to him via mail, telling him that she saw it there in her dream. Carlotta is shocked to see Rowan wearing the necklace when she arrives at the Mayfair home. She invites them to join in the basement for dinner. While eating, Rowan is continuously enquiring about the specifics of her mother’s health because she and her mother are on the same page.

Mayfair Witches Episode 4 Ending Explained: Is Ciprien Alive or Dead?

In the end, Carlotta admits that she hated being Dierdre’s carer her entire life and that, as a result, she feels animosity for Rowan. Rowan is afraid, especially because she senses Carlotta’s hostility growing stronger by the second. She starts setting the room on fire and throws a light Rowan’s way, which Rowan just barely avoids. When Ciprien arrives to help and unlocks the door, Rowan is saved; sadly, Carlotta stabs Ciprien in the process. However, he’s still alive. By locking every entry as they leave the house, Lasher makes it difficult for Rowan and Ciprien to flee. Additionally, he informs Carlotta that Rowan is now in his custody.

Ciprien and Rowan depart the residence. He probably murders her right away after saying this. Carlotta was undoubtedly aware that nothing could stop Lasher from using her control over Rowan when Rowan put on the necklace. She’d tried to kill him because she didn’t want to deal with the consequences of their relationship. Carlotta has knowledge regarding Lasher’s skills and actual character. She is demonstrating her belief that there is no hope for her predicament by responding in a hostile manner. Because of the way she acted, she must have thought that murdering herself and Rowan was the most efficient way to put an end to the matter once and for all. Only time will reveal whether or not she was right.
