Recap of Episode 6 of ‘Pam & Tommy’

Pamela is at a deposition with her lawyer Richard Alden by her side when the episode begins. The man sitting across from her asks a demeaning question that contains the phrase “genitals.”

Pamela is comforted by her lawyer, who explains that the personal inquiries are part of the deposition but will not be discussed in court.

The inquiries, on the other hand, remain direct — verging on rude — and infer that Pamela “leaked” her tape for financial benefit on purpose.

Meanwhile, we follow Pamela’s journey from a little Canadian hamlet to her first taste of famous glory through flashbacks.

She attends a football game with her (then) boyfriend in 1989. A young and shy Pamela is seen on camera by the stadium camera, and she is subsequently approached by a man from Labatt’s marketing department.

Things pick up speed from there, and after appearing on a poster, the young potential actress receives a call from Playboy magazine inviting her to a test shoot in Los Angeles.

She also meets Hugh Hefner, the magazine’s famous patriarch, who gives her celebrity advice and leaves young Pamela dumbfounded.

We are given to another set of flashbacks as the deposition continues in the present, this time of Pamela and Tommy’s time together shortly after their wedding.

The pair, madly in love, goes on a camping vacation where they film the fateful video. Tommy starts organising another trip to Fiji soon after they return. He also removes the private tape from the video camera with care and places it in his safe.

Why is Pamela Blamed for Leaking the Tape

Pam & Tommy Episode 6 Ending: Why is Pamela Held Responsible for the Tape’s Leakage?

Back in the present, the deposition resumes the heinous line of questions against Pamela. She is forced to answer more unpleasant questions, and it is implied that she leaked the private recording on purpose.

Her interrogator proposes they continue the deposition the next day when the deposition ends for the day. Pamela becomes enraged and tells Alden that she is done answering questions and that if he wants to keep his job, he must find an alternative.

Finally, the traumatised celebrity walks out of the empty deposition room, bringing the tale to a close.

Despite the fact that Pamela and Tommy are the plaintiffs, the manner in which the former was treated during her deposition gives the impression that she is on trial.

Her motives and innocence in the case of the leaked footage have been called into question several times. Worst of all, the lawyer questioning Pamela implies that her profession as an adult model for Playboy magazine makes it likely that she circulated the footage on purpose to generate more money.

Pamela’s interrogator bases his argument on the assumption that she leaked her tape so that she might be featured in the rival Penthouse magazine because she was unhappy with the money she was earning for Playboy photoshoots.

The actress denies this and is outraged at the insinuation that she would intentionally share her personal tape. Despite this, she is forced to sit and watch the tape during the deposition, and she is occasionally questioned about its contents.

Rand and Uncle Miltie, the ones who actually leaked the footage, are, of course, noticeably absent from the episode.

What Happens if Pamela Refuses More Depositions

What if Pamela Refuses to Make Any More Deposits?

Pamela is traumatised and enraged by the end of episode 6. She goes off on her lawyer, telling him she won’t answer any more personal questions and that he needs to find another solution.

Though we don’t know if Alden will be able to fulfil her request, the actress’s future appears to be bleak.

On the one hand, pursuing legal action would result in a slew of additional painful interrogations in which Pamela would be forced to continually answer personal questions from strangers.

On the other hand, if she refuses to be interrogated, she and Tommy will almost certainly be forced to dismiss their case. Penthouse magazine (and possibly other publications and online) would undoubtedly become even more popular as a result of this.

It nearly appears that legal action is the only option for containing the tape, and if Pam refuses to be questioned, the tape may spread even more unchecked.

Where is Tommy

What happened to Tommy?

Despite Tommy’s encouraging words to Pamela when they originally received the deposition summons, the spouse is nowhere to be seen.

Pamela is interrogated on her own about their secret honeymoon, and she is even forced to answer questions regarding Tommy’s relationships with other women.

Meanwhile, Tommy does not appear to have been summoned to the depositions.

Pamela looks to be being targeted for being a sex symbol more than anything else. The fact that she is interrogated so harshly despite the fact that she is the victim obviously indicates that the purpose of the deposition is not to get her side of the event but to dig more into her personal life.

This also brings us back to Pamela’s initial concerns when she and Tommy learn of the tape’s leak. The latter is largely undisturbed by the scandal, whereas Pamela is thrust into the middle of it, ostensibly alone and surrounded by men who are unaware of her predicament.
