‘Ouroboros,’ the 7th episode of Season 3 of ‘Snowpiercer,’ begins with Layton dreaming of a very different version of the Snowpiercer.
In his dream, he is kidnapped by two unknown men, but Javi, Wilford, and Ruth come to his rescue. He goes to visit Ben, who gives him a pass that allows him to cross the border on the train.
He deceives border patrol agents by impersonating a dancer and crossing the border with others. He meets Roche and trades Winnipeg’s doll for another.
Josie finds Layton in the Tail and delivers him to Dr. Pelton in reality. Even though he overcomes death, he goes into a coma.
The border patrol officials, led by LJ, discover that Layton and others are lying in the dream. She orders the police to shoot down everyone. Layton manages to escape and is apprehended. Pike comes to see him and wants him to repent for the sins he’s committed.
In the actual world, Bess asks Miss Audrey to aid Layton by getting into his thoughts. Audrey approaches Layton and asks him to come out of the dream that is keeping him from waking up alive. In his dream, Layton begins to see Audrey as she frees him from prison.
Layton enters the Tail and demands to meet with the Tail leader. Josie lets him in and introduces him to the boss, who happens to be his grown-up daughter Liana.
A bomb inside Winnipeg’s doll, on the other hand, detonates, transferring him to Asha’s automobile. He fights off an assailant who wants to kill him and Asha, but he manages to terminate the fight by killing the assailant.
Snowpiercer Season 3 Episode 7 Ending Explained
Miss Audrey’s intervention to free Layton from the nightmare that has him trapped pays off as he senses her presence. His subconsciousness, on the other hand, continues to live in the realm of a dream.
In the dream, Layton begs Asha to open a locker Asha has locked so Layton can’t see what’s inside. Despite Asha’s best efforts, Layton eventually opens the locker and examines an image of the tree he sees in his dreams.
A sudden realization happens in Layton, leading him to wake up from his coma.
Upon waking out of the coma, Layton thinks about the tree’s photograph. He realises he’s seen the photograph before while rescuing Asha from the subterranean reactor, causing his mind to conjure up images of it.
When he discovers that the tree only grows in New Eden, he interprets this as evidence that the Arabian warm region is truly warmer for life and tree growth. He resolves to lead the Snowpiercer to New Eden on the basis of his visions, thinking of himself as the savior of the remnants of humanity.
Layton’s newfound awareness that the tree visions are simply his mind’s attempt to recreate the snapshot leads him to believe that New Eden may easily become another desolate and frozen wilderness. With the understanding, his goal to establish a human colony in New Eden also falls.
What Does Wilford Come up with? Melanie: Is She Alive or Dead?
Wilford becomes preoccupied with a detail he noticed while Layton and his comrades were away on the pirate train after he recovers from his bullet wound. He requests maps and other equipment from Alex in order to demonstrate anything.
Wilford discloses to Alex that he had come across signals from Marseille, France, when she was abroad to find Melanie. Alex reminds him that they have never gone to France to make such a signal, reinforcing Wilford’s concerns that the signal came from Melanie.
Since there are no other known survivors of the freeze in the world, Melanie can be the only one capable of transmitting such a signal.
When Layton, Alex, Ben, and the others are unable to locate Melanie in the service station, they are concerned. Their worst fears appear to be realised when they read her journal, in which she writes that she is going to die by walking into the cold.
With Wilford’s new revelation, Alex and others’ original belief that Melanie is dead may be challenged. The signal from France can be sent by Melanie, presumably after reaching there with other survivors.
The existence of Asha and her life that survived the freeze proves that there are other survivors out there, and Melanie may have survived with their help.
