Eric Haider: How Did He Die?
Eric Haider, 30, was a Bismarck, North Dakota resident. He was engaged to Jody, a loving father of two, and the two were looking forward to embarking on a journey together. Despite being close to his family, Eric was born prematurely and had a tough upbringing, according to the show.
No one expected Eric to live, but he did, and he went on to become a generous and kind-hearted man. Eric was working at a construction site in Dickinson, North Dakota, at the time of his death, and used to commute there with his coworkers.
Eric was last seen on May 24, 2012, when his mother dropped him off at the carpooling crew’s pickup location. The day went on as usual, and at about 12:04 p.m., Eric’s fiancée called and spoke with him.
The majority of the team usually returned by 6:30 p.m., but Eric was nowhere to be seen on that particular day. Eric’s phone was disconnected, and the foreman speculated that he had walked away from work after being denied vacation over Memorial Day weekend. Eric’s family was so worried that they reported him missing on the same day.
When the cops became involved, they didn’t leave any stone unturned in their search for the missing man. Eric’s body, on the other hand, was only discovered in May 2015, nearly three years after he vanished.
On May 21, 2015, when digging near the construction site where he was working at the time of his disappearance, authorities discovered human remains.
Medical records and recognised tattoos were used to identify Eric’s remains, which were buried six and a half feet deep. An autopsy, however, was unable to ascertain the reason or method of his death.
However, forensic examiners determined that Eric was buried alive after carefully examining his remains and the site from which they were retrieved.
Who Killed Eric Haider And Why?
Unfortunately, with no leads or clues to work with, the inquiry into Eric’s killing came to a halt very quickly. As a result, it’s unclear whether his death was an accident or if he was deliberately targeted on that fatal day.
When the police began their inquiry into Eric’s disappearance, they discovered that Eric’s request for leave over Memorial Day weekend had been denied by management.
Despite the fact that Eric’s foreman at the building site reported that he was dissatisfied with the rejection, his family insisted that he was not a quitter and would not leave over such a minor issue.
When authorities spoke with Eric’s coworkers, they claimed that they had last seen him approximately an hour and a half after returning from lunch.
Eric’s remains were difficult to find, and a K9 unit was brought in to help pinpoint the location. Even still, when officials found his remains, they noted that he was facing a water pipeline that the crew was putting in on the day Eric vanished.
“Eric’s body was positioned in a manner that was consistent with dirt being shoved in on top of it when it was seated near the pipe or while it had been standing and had been forced to the ground,” according to the forensic report.
Furthermore, because Eric had a pacemaker, his death was ruled to have occurred at 12:19 p.m., just 5 minutes after the crew had completed filling the holes they had dug for the water pipeline installation.
However, because there has been no fresh information or leads to work on since then, the case has come to a full halt. The authorities were unable to determine whether or not anyone was to blame for the death; therefore they decided not to press charges.
Despite the fact that the case was concluded, the police stated that the phone lines were remained available for anyone with new information to call in.
Eric’s family, on the other side, was sad that the investigation had been closed. They remain optimistic about a settlement and refuse to give up their battle for justice.
