Keith Gladstone: Who Is He?

Keith Gladstone is a former Baltimore Police Department (BPD) officer best known for his friendship with Wayne Jenkins, the former Gun Trace Task Force Sergeant (GTTF). Gladstone began his career with the BPD on November 20, 1992, as an officer. He was employed with the BPD for numerous years and met Wayne Jenkins. On December 16, 2011, Gladstone was promoted to Sergeant.

On December 25, 2012, Gladstone left the BPD for a short time. On December 9, 2013, he returned to the rank of Sergeant, which he had held for about a year. Gladstone was the officer-in-charge of a Special Enforcement Section (SES) unit in the Western District in March 2014.

Gladstone retired from the BPD on May 1, 2017, bringing an end to an almost 25-year career as a cop. Gladstone was engaged in the arrest of Demetric Simon in 2014, who was run down by Jenkins during his arrest. Gladstone admitted to obtaining and planting a BB gun on Simon in 2019.

Gladstone was charged with one count of conspiracy to deprive civil rights as a result of his acts. He entered a guilty plea in court, although the case’s sentencing was not revealed at the time.

What Has Happened to Keith Gladstone?

Keith Gladstone was found guilty in 2019 for his role in Demetric Simon’s arrest. However, a subsequent investigation led to the arrest of former police Detective Robert Hankard, with whom Gladstone had served as the leader of the Cease Fire Squad during his time with the BPD.

Gladstone was called before the jury in April 2022 to testify against Hankard, who was charged with depriving individuals of their civil liberties, assisting in the planting of proof, and cheating to a grand jury. During his employment as a cop, Gladstone was granted amnesty and confessed to multiple crimes.

Gladstone acknowledged to taking money from drug dealers in the mid-to-late 1990s in order to pay confidential informants. Gladstone, on the other hand, began stealing for himself and was involved in a number of robberies with Wayne Jenkins.

He also admitted to selling drugs he had been arrested for while on duty. Gladstone revealed throughout the trial that the BB gun he used on Demetric Simon was handed to him by BPD Detective Carmine Vignola, who testified that he got it from Hankard.

During his nearly seven-hour speech, Gladstone expressed regret for his behaviour. “I’m really sorry I did that, but those were my decisions.” On the stand, he stated, “We would become what we were fighting against.”

Gladstone will not be convicted of his crimes since he was granted immunity as part of his plea agreement with the prosecutors. Gladstone moved to New Park, Pennsylvania, after his retirement and is expected to remain there till the current day.
