‘When Calls the Heart’ Season 9 Episode 7 Recap ‘Hope Valley Days Part 1’
Michael, as mayor of Hope Valley, plans to hold a town celebration by appointing five council members to plan five separate celebrations throughout the year. Elizabeth and Mei Sou host Thanksgiving and Valentine’s Day. Rosemary and Lee handle Halloween, and Florence and Ned agree to prepare the Hanukkah celebrations during this seven-day festival dubbed Hope Valley Days.
In addition, Bill decides to join in the fun by planning April Fool’s Day. Though Lee continues to doubt Michael’s leadership qualities, his wife persuades him to reconsider and give the mayor’s good intentions a chance. Soon after, a letter from famed newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst arrives at the Valley Voice headquarters, enthralling the Coulters with the idea of expanding the publication’s reach.
Meanwhile, Lucas is struggling with the oil firm contract, and Henry informs him dejectedly that their plan to send Fiona to persuade Jerome Smith failed. As a result, both men resolve to visit San Francisco later. Minnie tells Elizabeth about her plans to buy Abigail’s part of the café and co-own it with Bill at the café.
Elizabeth strives to instil in her children the importance of Thanksgiving and later seeks to assist Anna, an old classmate. Her mother has been offered a new position outside of Hope Valley, and she does not want to leave. Elizabeth wants Anna to stand on her own two feet and show her mother that she is capable of managing her own affairs.
Faith urges Michael to set aside some funds for the clinic’s new X-ray machine, but he reluctantly declines because she operates her own practise and no longer works at the infirmary. He, on the other hand, inspires her to take a fresh approach to her job and become entirely self-sufficient with her clinic.
Faith later tells Mei Sou that she should acknowledge her feelings for Nathan and give him a chance. Meanwhile, he contacts Elizabeth for driving lessons, but is quickly irritated by her unnecessarily rigorous techniques and approaches Lucas instead.
Following that, Bill has a health concern and seeks Faith’s advice, who diagnoses the symptoms as likely pneumonia and advises him to see a city doctor. Florence and Ned organise a Hanukkah candle-lighting ceremony at the saloon in the evening and inform everyone about the meaning of the holiday.
Afterwards, over Rosemary and Lee’s Halloween bonfire, Elizabeth and Lucas share some personal moments and delicately discuss their wedding plans. Faith also takes Michael’s remarks into consideration and decides to conduct her clinic on her own.
Does Mei Sou Confront Geoffrey in When Calls the Heart Season 9 Episode 7?
Mei Sou is overjoyed when the Yosts officially hire her as Hope Valley’s pharmacist, delighted by her efficiency. Her joy is short-lived, however, when her alleged husband Geoffrey Lewis arrives in town searching for her. He rudely confronts Bill and, after attempting to strike him, ends himself in jail.
Nathan is astounded to learn that Mei Sou is married, as well as that Geoffrey has filed theft, forgery, and spousal abandonment charges against her in Chicago. Bill is also disappointed in Mei Sou for not giving him the whole truth, and advises her to confront Geoffrey. She admits that he most likely falsified her signature on the marriage certificate and that she never married him.
She is also angry when Nathan continues to avoid her and is concerned about confronting her so-called husband after such a long time. Lucas tries to persuade Nathan to give her an opportunity to explain herself, but he refuses.
Allie comes up to Mei Sou and asks for her opinion on Robert just as she is gaining the guts to speak to Geoffrey. Mei Sou becomes enraged and confronts Geoffrey when he is explaining things to her. She tells him to keep away from her and that he should dismiss the fake charges he brought against her.
The man refuses to back down and continues to pressurise her to return to Chicago with him. Regardless, Mei Sou stands up for herself and cuts him off, while Nathan and Bill agree to give her police protection.
Are Joseph and Minnie Approved for a bank loan?
Minnie and Joseph fly to Buxton to apply for a bank loan in order to purchase Abigail’s share of the café. Joseph agrees, but is concerned about how they will be treated there, given their terrible past and the ongoing issue of racial discrimination. When the bank rejects their application for unexplained reasons, his fears come true.
Lee feels terrible for Joseph as he returns dejectedly and informs the Coulters of the news. He decides to use his power behind the scenes and tells the bank that unless the loan is approved, he will stop doing business with them. He also offers to cover the Canfields‘ loan secretly and is successful in persuading the bank. By doing so, he is expressing his gratitude for Joseph’s contribution to the sawmill in an indirect manner. The Coulters are pleased to see Joseph and Minnie joyful when they learn the good news.
